Police found dangerous weapons in Idaho murder suspect Bryan Kohberger ‘s parents’ house, according to new court documents. This new information serves as additional evidence in the first-degree murder case filed against Kohberger.
Who’s Bryan Kohberger?
Kohberger, 28, is a former Ph.D. student of Criminal Justice and Criminology at Washington State University accused of killing four of four students aged 20 – 21.

Kohberger allegedly stabbed the victims, Ethan Chapin, Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, and Xana Kernodle, in their sleep on November 13, 2022, leading to their instant deaths.
Although he was a college student, Kohberger wasn’t enrolled as the four victims in the same school, the University of Idaho.
What Happened Next?
Since the school is close to Moscow, the Moscow Police Department led the investigation and arrested Kohberger on December 30, 2022. They tracked his white Hyundai after he became a fugitive from justice following his arrest warrant.
Extradition To Idaho
The police found his Hyundai Elantra when he attempted to flee from the crime scene leading to a nationwide hunt. The authorities got a judged-signed warrant ordering Kohberger’s extradition back to Idaho to attend his first hearing.
The Search
Following his first appearance in court, Moscow PD continued its investigation and searched his parent’s house for further evidence. Their search turned up several dangerous weapons which made for damning evidence against Kohberger.
Armed And Ready
Some weapons found include a Semiautomatic Glock 22 .40 Caliber magazine, a sheathed Taylor cutting knife, a Smith & Wesson pocketknife, black masks, hat, gloves, and a criminal psychology book.
His Car Search
A further search of Kohberger’s Hyundai Elantra revealed another knife, goggles, a Ziploc bag, a shovel, tire irons, and other car items. The authorities didn’t indicate whether the murder item was among the retrieved weapons.
Held Without Bail
The former Ph.D. student is remanded in jail pending trial yet he waived his right to a sped-up trial.
Three Roommates And A Visitor
Per TMZ, the three women amongst the victims Goncalves, Mogen, and Kernodle cohabited in their off-campus rental while Chapin visited them on their death day.
How Did They Pick The Suspect
Moscow PD didn’t arrest Kohberger on a witch hunt but based on suspicion of his behavior. He circled the crime scene with his white Hyundai Elantra in the wee hours severally within two weeks of their death.
Far From Home
Upon sensing danger, the former Ph.D. student sped off from the area causing the police to pursue him. They discovered Kohberger was more than ten miles away from his school to the victim’s residence.
Description From A Survivor
Moreso, one of the surviving victims described the suspect as a male about 5’10” tall with an average build wearing black clothing. Hence the black mask and gloves in his car served as evidence.
Police Match The Description
Kohberger fit the description based on his driver’s license photo, his phone records put him in the crime scene’s area at the suspected murder time. He’d switched it off for some time between 2:44 a.m. and 5:30 a.m.
Further Physical Evidence
More DNA evidence from sheathed knife matched Kohberger’s father’s DNA profile based on a match to trash recovered from their family home.
Kohberger Stayed With His Parents
Although the suspect wasn’t a regular resident at his parent’s house, he’d stayed there for the Christmas break.
Building A Case
The police built a case against Kohberger before arresting him on the 30th of December last year.
Not Guilty Plea
Kohberger entered a “Not Guilty” plea saying he’ll fight the charges against him.
Possible Life Sentence
If convicted, the suspect could get a life sentence or worse, death. He insists on his innocence and is determined to fight the claims.
Trial Starts In The Summer
After facing the court at the preliminary hearing, the judge set the official trial date for this summer, June 26.
