One of the most difficult decisions a pet owner might ever have to make is deciding to rehome a beloved pet when their current environment isn’t working for them. It takes a lot of strength to make a selfless decision for your pet’s sake, and that’s exactly what Andy Cohen did in May when he rehomed his beloved dog of 7 years, Wacha.
Andy had announced at the end of May that he had made the difficult decision to rehome Wacha.

“Over the nearly seven years that I’ve been blessed to have Wacha in my life, we have worked to address some occasional random signs of aggression. No effort was spared in the attempt to help Wacha feel adjusted,” Andy wrote in a heartbreaking post .
“After an incident a few months ago, numerous professionals led me to the conclusion that my home is simply not a good place for him,” Andy said.
“Keeping him here could be catastrophic for Ben and worse for Wacha,” Andy wrote, referencing his young son. “The good news is that he now has a permanent home with his second family, in the place he lived every single time I went out of town.”
Andy has now shared an emotional update on his Radio Andy show about Wacha’s rehoming.
“I mean, he’s so happy,” Andy said.

“I took him out for an hour walk, which is what I plan to do now, I plan to see him still. And the great thing is that, after he went back with Sherman, Sherman said there were no signs that he was depressed or feeling any kind of way,” Andy explained of Wacha’s new home.
“He’s happy, he’s healthy, he’s pissing on everything in the neighbourhood. God is good, Wacha’s good, life is good,” Andy said on Instagram.

We’re so happy to hear that Wacha is safe and happy in his new home, and we’re even happier to hear that Andy can still be a part of his beloved pet’s new life!
