I LOVE weird Christmas trees.
There’s something so delightful about a non-traditional tree. They’re always super creative, often funny, and totally representative of the home they’re in.

For example, some people have decided to build f lamingo trees instead of regular Christmas trees. And yes, it’s as nuts as it sounds.
Weird trees >>> regular trees.
They’re just superior to regular trees, and I stand by that opinion. Even if your “weird” tree is just a regular tree in a non-regular color, it’s still guaranteed that I’ll love it. My tree is iridescent white, for example!
Even I am shocked by this one, though.
I can honestly say I have never seen anything like this before. This is a flamingo Christmas tree, and it’s… well, full of flamingos. I don’t get it. I think it’s kind of ugly. But that right there is the genius of it: it’s so bad that it’s good.
It turns out that a lot of people like flamingo Christmas trees.
Many go the traditional tree shape route, sure, but they’re all still stuffed full of pink flamingos. I tried to find the origin of flamingo trees, but it remains elusive. Perhaps humanity is just weird — and that’s okay.
These things are everywhere.
The #FlamingoTree tag on Instagram is chock full of trees stuffed with plastic flamingos. I am so excited about this, tbh. It’s weird as heck, it’s different, and it’s fun! Who doesn’t love a tropical Christmas vibe?
Some people go a bit more low-key with it.
Instead of doing a whole tree full of them, this tree has a singular flamingo topper in place of the star. I love the pastel palette of this tree! I would totally do this one.
Others go all out.
Forget the flamingo topper. Forget the flamingo ornaments. Imagine an entire tree MADE of pink flamingos. Now we’re getting into the surrealist department, which is my favorite department to be in.
I don’t understand it, but I love it.
I truly think pink is the best Christmas color, because I am an insane person. So of course I think this trend is the best thing since sliced bread, you know? It combines all of my favorite things: pink, and weirdness.
I get the feeling this isn’t the last we’ll see of the flamingo trees.
Now that we’re all aware of it, we’re definitely going to be seeing flamingo trees everywhere. I hope they’re all as insane as this one, which looks like a zombie hoard of flamingos.
