This weekend, fans of Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth were devastated to learn that their favorite long-time couple were separating after just eight months of marriage. The couple had started dating in 2009 on the set of The Last Song , and despite a brief split in 2014, were going stronger than ever.
Rumors were sparked initially when Miley was seen without her wedding ring.
Right before their rep released a statement confirming their separation, Miley was also spotted getting quite friendly with Kaitlynn Carter, Brody Jenner’s ex-wife, on a yacht off the coast of Italy.
The Daily Mail had announced that Liam had spoken to one reporter of theirs.
They stated that when asked about the separation, “You don’t understand what it’s like. I don’t want to talk about it, mate.”
So heartbreaking, but apparently, false.
Liam just made a post on Instagram breaking his silence for real this time, saying, “Hi all Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward,” on this picture of a sunset .
“This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets.”
“Any reported quotes attributed to me are false. Peace and Love,” he finished.
It looks like the media might be having a heyday with this scandal, but Liam is not having any of it. Good for him!
