Still holding onto feelings of resentment, the Reddit user doesn’t want her husband to attend the ex’s funeral, despite the fact that they had been friends for over 20 years. She asked AITA if she was wrong for feeling that way .

The Husband’s Friend Died Suddenly.
According to OP, the husband and his ex met in college, dated, got married, but decided they were better off as friends. About a decade after that, the husband met OP. He told her about his friendship with his ex when they first began dating and said that he would choose the ex over OP as the ex was an important friend to him. OP decided to go along with their friendship but secretly resented it.
OP and her husband eventually got married, and the husband once again told OP she can leave if she didn’t like his friendship with his ex. She once again went along with it.
The ex died suddenly due to an aneurysm, just moments after having lunch with the husband. The husband cried immediately after, and OP felt that he’s had his time to mourn. She told him she didn’t expect him to attend the ex’s funeral, to which he got incredibly upset. The husband threatened to burn his wedding band, stating that he will go to the funeral no matter what. Now, the husband, as well as the ex’s husband and sister, are calling her an insensitive jerk for her response.
