It seems like it was just yesterday when we found out our favorite franchise was getting a reboot. Heck, I’d hardly call it a reboot, I’d call it a refresh. And Just Like That… is the second part of the Sex and the City franchise which combines the perfect amount of our classic SATC characters and some new, fresh faces.
Of course, since it was announced that Kim Cattrall wouldn’t be apart of the new series, fans have wondered what that means for the beloved Samantha Jones.
Samantha Jones, for many people, was the best part of “Sex and the City” by far.
It’s hard to argue with them — she was bold, beautiful, and spoke her mind in a way female characters really hadn’t in the past. Plus, she was essentially the sex in Sex and the City.
Since it was announced that Kim Cattrall wasn’t going to be apart of “And Just Like That…” fans have speculated what the show was going to do with Samantha Jones’ character.
A lot of fans feared that Samantha would be killed off the series, but thankfully, it’s been revealed that that’s not the case.
Showrunner Michael Patrick King recently sat down with “The New York Times” to answer some burning questions.
“Nobody’s dead,” Michael said, seemingly shutting down many reboot rumors all at once, including Chris Noth’s Mr. Big and the late Willie Garson’s Stanford Blatch.
As fans know, the franchise lost the beloved Willie Garson earlier this year after a battle with cancer.
When asked why he chose not to add Willie’s death into the show, he responded: “Because it wasn’t charming. And I knew that the audience would know.”
And Just Like That … premieres on HBO Max on December 9th.
