High School Musical actress, Ashley Tisdale, and Kevin Smith AKA “Silent Bob” got into a little bit of a fender-bender in their shared neighborhood, so to speak.
Instead of dealing with things privately, Ashley decided to call him out for it on Twitter and it’s making us all very uncomfortable .
Ashley Tisdale and Kevin Smith aren’t two names you usually hear together. Or ever, really.
But apparently, they live right near each other — neighbors, to be exact.
Allegedly, Kevin nicked Ashley’s car and drove away, and it’s turned into the most awkward Twitter beef of all time.
It’s not totally clear whether or not they’re joking around or not?
Ashley started things off with this passive aggressive (but possibly playful) tweet:
See, I don’t know what to make of this.
Is she angry? Is she joking? Are they friends? Is she trolling him?
Kevin’s response, however, seemed to be a lot more lighthearted — giving us the impression that there are no actual hard feelings between them.
“Apologies – I drive like Cruella de Vil in the Hills!,” he responded .
He then clarified that he did, in fact, stop briefly — but that Ashley was the first one to start driving away.
Does this make it okay? I’m very confused.
And just like that, things were good again?
She casually shrugged off the situation and granted him forgiveness.
I thought she was mad mad though??
Their tones are very unclear.
Kevin revealed on Twitter that Ashley stopped by his house later that day to apologize.
“So the incredibly sweet @ashleytisdale stopped by my house and tried to apologize,” he wrote .
“I assured her that *I’m* the one who was driving like a Wildcat,” he went on.
“Also told her I’d sent my kid our Tweets . HQ’s response: “We saw Ashley in HighSchoolMusical Live!” Ashley was like ‘Oh, maaan…'”
He also mentioned that he forgot to ask for a photo with Ashley while she was at his house.
If Sharpay Evans shows up at your front door, you take a selfie with her. Idc. It must be done.
So, to summarize:
The feud was real — at first. Kevin just managed to smooth it over very quickly and efficiently before it got out of hand.
Thankfully these two were able to bury the hatchet right away. We have enough celebrity drama to keep track of as it is.
Besides, Ashley and Kevin don’t really seem like the celebrity-drama-type .
Fans thought the whole thing was weird.
Some fans thought Ashley’s method of confronting Kevin was odd and inappropriate.
This is how we deal with things in 2019 — you don’t leave a note anymore, you call them out on Twitter for the entire world to see.
Other fans were disappointed that they didn’t give us a full-on Twitter battle.
I was just about to put a bag of popcorn in the microwave and buckle in for some good, old-fashioned Twitter beef — but instead, they’re being nice to each other? Lame.
But, of course, it’s nice to see celebrities getting along and calmly working out their disagreements.
This was the most grown-up, respectable, short-lived Twitter feud I’ve ever witnessed.
On the bright side, if Ashley can afford to live in the same neighborhood as Kevin Smith, I’m guessing that she can afford to fix the scratch on her mirror.
No harm, no foul.
