There are about a million and one reasons why public transportation is the WORST.
There are the crazy people you meet, for one. And rude bus drivers who are constantly late, for two.
Sadly, there’s another reason to save up for your own car. Ever wondered why buses have such ugly seats? Well, the answer will disgust you…
People have witnessed some pretty crazy things on public transport.
This picture is evidence of that. Good luck explaining why you were late for work to your boss!
“There were hundreds of giant pandas that I couldn’t get around!” Yeah, they might be checking your breath for alcohol after that!
Is the subway really the best place to be doing this?

You’re going to feel like quite the jerk for having to step around this meditating man.
He also makes you feel like a bum for scrolling on Reddit on the way to work while he’s actually doing something productive!
That’s one way to make yourself at home
We’re all for being comfy, but this is taking things too far. Why not wait until you’re at home to unleash your dirty feet? He’s also taking up two seats — a cardinal sin in public transport.
We can smell the nail polish from here.
We’ll take the smell of someone’s breakfast over this, thanks!
You do have to kind of give it to this woman, though. She must have steady hands like a surgeon. And she’s not clipping her nails like we’ve seen some other crazies do.
Now, we come to another reason to hate taking public transportation.

Have you ever wondered why buses and subways have such ugly seats? Well, one woman has the answer. Erica Mallett ( @erica_mallett ) shared all in a TikTok video that quickly went viral .
“Turns out there’s a very specific reason they’ve been designed to look like a Smurf had bad flu and vomited everywhere,” she began.

That’s a very accurate description of how they look.
“And you’re not gonna like it,” she added.
She went on to explain that, “they’ve been designed to look this horrible to hide something even more horrible – the grit and dirt of hundreds of thousands of public butts.”

“These colours and this pattern disguises dirt and wear and tear, and public graffiti, and anything that might be really gross.”
For anyone questioning her, she posted a clip of someone hitting a bus seat with a hammer.

This sent a cloud of dust and dirt flying everywhere. “Moral of the story: offer your seat to the little old lady,” the text overlay read.
Erica’s PSA did a good job of making people never want to take a bus again.

“This is why I don’t wear outside clothes in my home,” one wrote. “never sitting on a seat on the bus or train again,” another wrote.
Some people thought that everyone already knew this fact.

“It helps hide dirt, thought this was common knowledge,” a user wrote. “Bro remember when ppl would wack the seats and dust would fly everywhere,” another person wrote, tagging their friend.
“All them farts saved over the years,” another wrote, thoroughly grossing more people out.
Can you imagine if the seats were white?! They would get dirty so fast. It’s almost better that they’re in this ugly design. What we don’t know can’t hurt us!
