Let me ask you something? Are you a neat freak like me? Admit it, alright? So in a perfect world, my house would be spotless, right?
Well, sadly, we don’t live in a perfect world, and I don’t have boundless amounts of time to keep my house clean at all times. And neither does this mom who recently posted on TikTok her honest reality . So check it out and let me know your thoughts on it.
Get a load of this story.

TikToker Bri James (aka @themessymama4) isn’t shy to show everyone online the real story of her household. Instead of showing people a fake version of her life, as many mom influencers do, she takes a different approach. And I have to say, I really like that.
She’s all too happy to show you just how messy her home is.

And, boy, is it ever, ha, ha. This busy mom of four admits that she hasn’t picked up anything or done the dishes in four days. Yes, that’s right — four days, people. Don’t be so shocked. I’m sure it happens to the best of us.
She even affectionately calls herself a ‘lazy mom.”

In the first video, she says that this is what happens when two very lazy adults have four kids and don’t clean up after themselves. Ha, ha, I admit I love the honesty here. It’s pretty refreshing. Isn’t it?
Then, she did a follow-up video of herself cleaning.
I mean, you can’t proclaim that you haven’t cleaned in four days and not show yourself doing something about it. Am I right? At least that’s what this mom thought too, ha, ha.
So there’s that.

The good thing is that at least one of her kids volunteered to help her mom in the kitchen. This sweet girl organized the kitchen cutlery drawer and even made mom wash some extra utensils. Aww, that’s so good on her.
This ‘lazy mom’ knew that she would get roasted showing her messy home.

And yes, she did get some nasty comments from people. Many of them couldn’t understand how somebody can live like that. Um, I guess they don’t have kids, ha, ha.
But there were plenty of people who came to her defense.

Those nice folks pointed out that most families with young kids go through stuff like this. Even if you do clean the house it gets messy as soon as you turn around. It’s just a fact of life.
This was my favorite comment.

I mean, isn’t that right? I love that. It’s so true too. As long as the kids are fed, there is plenty of safe space for them, who cares how messy your house is, right? Amen to that.
How do you feel about this real-life being portrayed on TikTok?

Confession time, does your household resemble something similar? There is no shame in that. I agree with the person who said the house would be clean someday. I’m sure this isn’t how things are every day, but sometimes you need to give yourself grace and not worry about it too much.
