Imagine spending a lot of time and money planning a huge birthday party for your child, only for none of their friends to show up on the big day. That’s exactly what happened to one mom and her daughter.
TikTok user Breanna Strong ( @breannamstrong ) posted a recent TikTok that showed the heartbreaking scene at her daughter’s birthday party, and it went viral.

“I wish I was making this up,” Breanna wrote as the caption to the TikTok
Posted just a few days ago, Breanna showed off the large yet empty party room she reserved for her daughter. “We invited 27 kids to Avery’s 3rd birthday party,” the text overlay reads on the screen.
But as she keeps showing clips of the party, it’s clear that it didn’t end up going as planned.
“Not a single one showed up,” Breanna wrote, showing all the unused decorations, as well as the fully intact birthday cake.
She continued showing the empty party room, remarking on how much money and f00d was wasted.
“Breaks momma’s heart so bad,” Breanna wrote in the text overlay, showing a clip of Avery eating a slice of pizza on her own.
Breanna ends the video with a clip of herself looking absolutely devastated.
“Literally going to go home and snuggle my babies,” she wrote in the text overlay.
The TikTok was posted 3 days ago at the time of writing, and has gained over 7.8 million views in that time.
Many commenters empathized with Breanna and the unfortunate party.
One user shared, “This happened to one of my daughters. Now I make sure we show up to everyone’s party we are invited to. I never want to see that pain for any child.”
Others were worried that Avery would’ve been upset as well.
One user commented, “I’m so sorry!!! she must have been heartbroken!” Breanna replied, stating, “She got everything she wanted. Pizza, frozen cake, and jungle gym. She didn’t know any different rather than having fun. Just shattered my heart.”
But there were some who didn’t believe that the party went the way Breanna said it did.
One user commented, “I have a feeling it was badly organized.” Another replied with, “Or this was before everyone has been.”
More recently, negative comments have been drowned out by more and more well-wishers.
And after reading some of the more skeptical comments, Breanna posted a tongue-in-cheek TikTok in response, where she mouthed along to a singer singing “I’m putting on my best show.”
A couple of days after the initial TikTok, Breanna posted a new video, wishing Avery a happy birthday.
The video starts with a clip of Breanna hugging Avery, before asking Alexa to “stop the time.” Then, clips of Avery growing up flash, going back to when Breanna was first pregnant.
And of course, more people wished Avery a happy birthday.
“Happy Birthday and many blessings little Princess!” one commenter wrote, echoing the well-wishes of everyone else.
Though her party didn’t go as planned, Avery still managed to capture the positivity of the TikTok community.
