It’s the last quarter of the year which means that annual awards and titles from the entertainment industry are rolling in from streaming institutions to magazines, making their way across the internet and into the public discourse.
Only quite recently, People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2024 was awarded to actor and filmmaker John Krasinski, and his wife has reacted to the news.

Every year, People magazine announces the Sexiest Man Alive, with 11 others on the 2024 list including The Good Place actor Manny Jacinto, Spider-Man’s Andrew Garfield and Normal People’s Paul Mescal.
But there could only be one to claim the number one spot; this year, it’s John Krasinski.
Krasinski was shocked by the news
In speaking with People magazine, The Office star admitted that he didn’t know what to think about his new title.
In the cover story, Krasinski said that he experienced “immediate blackout” and “zero thoughts” as soon as he heard the news.
The actor thought it was a joke
Krasinski admitted that he thought he was “being punked” when he saw the title.
He explained that he never expected it to happen, “That’s not how I wake up, thinking, ‘Is this the day that I’ll be asked to be Sexiest Man Alive?”
The magazine picks the winner
Having started the tradition in 1985, the publication’s Sexist Man Alive winner is picked by them after thorough research rather than being voted in by readers.
The filmmaker Krasinski joins the likes of Idris Elba, Chris Evans, and Dwayne Johnson in claiming the title.
Emily Blunt reacted to the news
John Krasinski and Emily Blunt have been married for 14 years and have two children, Hazel, who is 10, and Violet, who is 8.
Krasinski said his wife was “very excited” when she heard about his title.
The actor admitted he enjoyed telling her
Krasinski explained during his magazine cover interview that “there was a lot of joy involved” in telling Blunt about the news.
Blunt joked that if he won, he would print his magazine cover and use it as wallpaper in their house.
Krasinski found that to be a funny idea
He said, “Do we have that on camera? Because that’s like a binding contract, I think. My children will love that, it won’t be weird at all.”
The actor continued talking about his marriage with Blunt, sharing that they are inspired by each other.
The filmmaker shared his love
Krasinski told the magazine about their happy marriage, “It’s that beautiful thing where when you’re married to someone, you’re constantly learning and changing and evolving.”
“And I’m so lucky to go through all that with her,” the IF actor added about his wife.
Krasinski joked about the title’s implications
It doesn’t seem like being crowned Sexiest Man Alive is going to change things but instead might even have set high expectations for him at home.
The actor joked about it saying, “I think it’s going to make me do more household chores.”
He anticipates that the bar has been raised for him
Krasinski added to the joke saying, “After this comes out, she’ll be like, ‘All right, that means you’re going to really earn it here at home.’”
It is certainly an interesting title to be given, and it’s no wonder it caught the artistic household by surprise.
