There are many reasons why couples get into fights and arguments. Sometimes, it stems from deep-rooted issues in a relationship, like trust issues or abandonment issues. However, there are other times when couples fight over petty things that they disagree on.
No couple totally agrees on everything, 100% of the time. There are always moments when we will fight and argue over things we cannot see eye to eye on. That’s just what couples do, right?
Some arguments can be huge.
Some arguments can be extra serious and huge. When we disagree, it can spark something in us that brings up bigger problems on the table.
When we start to get down to the nitty-gritty of things, relationships can be exposed to bigger issues that we are not totally focusing on at that moment.
Other things can be trivial and small and just trigger us.
While some arguments are small, they can trigger us to be annoyed and frustrated with our partner. When they can’t hear our side of things or see where we are coming from, even about the smallest issues, it totally gets under our skin.
One mom opened up about a recent argument she had with her husband over something quite small.
Opening up on the popular blog Mumsnet , the mom said the argument was over ironing sheets. Now, if you were to ask us, ironing sheets seems rather counterproductive. Sheets are made for sleeping on and rolling around in, but that’s just our opinion.
The mom said she and her husband got into a “semi-serious” fight over it.
The mom said that her husband came in and saw that she was putting an “unironed” fitted sheet on their bed and lost it on her. She had “already ironed the duvet and the pillowcases,” but was not sure why she had to iron the fitted sheet.
She asked others if she was losing her mind or in the wrong.
The mom insists that she is not wrong in this, as she doesn’t understand why her husband is so annoyed with her over something so trivial. In addition, she asked if other people iron their fitted sheets before putting them on the bed, so she can understand if it’s a “thing” or if her husband is just crazy.
Many said that they do not iron the sheets.
The majority of commenters on the thread said that they absolutely do not iron sheets. They think it is “pointless” and they don’t see a purpose for it. Some people also said that they barely iron at all in general. They actually haven’t picked up their iron in years.

However, some people do iron and enjoy it.
“I do iron all mine, but I even iron tea towels and my boys boxers, but i love ironing, not sure why but I do. I don’t know anyone else to iron like I do though, and its not the case of having smooth clothes bedding as kids just ram clothes into draws anyway,” one person shared .
One person said they only iron bedding for one occasion.
Another person said that they iron their bedsheets and bedding only when they have guests coming over to stay in their guest room and they want to have it look a certain way. However, for their own bedding, they feel as though bedding out of the dryer is just fine.
A mom also shared she used to do it but when she stopped, nothing changed.
“I never ironed fitted sheets but did iron duvet covers and pillowcases. Then a difficult life event happened and didn’t have time to do it anymore.”
“It made zero difference to my life, doesn’t look nearly as bad as I imagined and I will never iron bedding again,” they said.

Many moms on the thread said that if her husband feels so strongly about the fitted sheets being ironed, let him get up and iron them himself. She is not a “50s housewife” who needs to do things like this when she doesn’t have time.
