Comedian and actress Amy Schumer welcomed her first son in 2019.
Amy and her husband Chris Fischer welcomed their son Gene David ( originally Gene Attell ) on May 5th, 2019, commemorating the event with an Instagram post reading , “10:55 p.m. last night. Our royal baby was born.”
After the birth of her son, Amy was open about her experience with IVF.
“I’m a week into IVF and feeling really run down and emotional,” Amy had shared on Instagram , “We are freezing my eggs and figuring out what to do to give Gene a sibling.”
“I am so grateful for our son and that we have the resources to get help in this way. I just wanted to share and send love and strength to all of the warrior women who go through this process,” she shared in another post .
Amy has now opened up about the “grueling” experience of IVF for her.
“We did IVF and IVF was really tough on me,” Amy said in a new interview . “I don’t think I could ever do IVF again.”
“I decided that I can’t be pregnant ever again,” she added. “We thought about a surrogate. but I think we’re going to hold off for right now.”
“Life is so much more beautiful,” Amy said of motherhood.
“He’s the best thing in my life,” she added.
We think it’s amazing that Amy is being so open and honest about her struggles, because there are so many people out in the world who can definitely relate to what she has gone through!
