Women Are Discussing Traits They Can't Stand In A Partner

Women have a pretty good idea about what they want and don't want in a partner.

We want someone kind, handsome, funny, royal, and sensitive.

The list of what we don't want is even longer. That's because a lot can really grind our gears and turn us off a man, fast.

Here, Redditors discuss the traits they can't stand. Did your red flags make the list?

Guys who chew super loudly.

That, and talking with their mouth open. This Redditor writes that the sound makes them get nauseous and angry (misophonia, anyone?). So it's back to etiquette school for guys who still do this.

Guys who still follow Instagram models.

"Ugh not the ig models. My ex followed quite a few (they weren’t huge) but still and lied to me saying he knew them from high school. Either way, I think my insecurities would get to the best of me.. not sure if I’d rather not see it or know it." - u/Kydra96

Guys who are cheap with everything except their hobbies.

CBS

"Men that spend thousands on their hobbies, just to turn down the heater in winter, because heating is expensive. Eat cheap and unhealthy at home, but go out to expensive restaurants every week." - u/Magiclily2020

Guys who can't fix things around the house.

"Whether it is putting (IKEA) furniture together, or hanging lamps on a ceiling, or whatever, they need to be able to do something. I can do all this by myself, but feel way better if my SO does it together with me." -u/Missa1exandria

Spitting.

We don't care if you can spit really far or hawk up some pretty gross stuff. This Redditor writes that it instantly turns her stomach when she sees a guy spit in the street. "Swallow it you disgusting pig."

Guys who have bad friends.

"I strongly believe that you are the company you keep," this Redditor writes. So if your friends are pretty much the worst, there's a good chance that this will rub off on you eventually.

Guys who still have celebrity crushes.

This Redditor writes that they grew out of their crushes at 16. So to see a guy still fantasize about a relationship that will never happen is weird. Raving about how hot Scarlett Johannson is doesn't win you any points, fellas!

A lack of self-awareness.

Unsplash | Ayo Ogunseinde

"Some people can't read a room, are blind to different perspectives, and don't consider how they can impact the lives of others. At best, it's embarrassing and at worst, it's completely offensive." - u/pup_pup_and-away

They can't spell.

While this may seem small, it's a total dealbreaker to some women. It makes us question your intelligence and takes any romance out of compliments.

For example, if we receive, "your beautiful," all we're thinking about is the spelling error!

A picky eater.

CBS

"I love to cook, especially foods from other cultures and lots of flavor and spice. If they only want to eat McDonald’s nuggets and Kraft Mac and cheese that’s a hard no from me. Especially if they don’t eat any vegetables, grow up you aren’t a toddler!" -u/KayaPapaya808

An unwillingness to hang outdoors.

Two people are pretty incompatible if one person likes to get outdoors often and the other only likes to sit inside and watch TV.

Given this, this Redditor writes that they can't be with someone who makes going outside feel like pulling teeth.

Guys who are over-groomed.

Unsplash | Drew Hays

"I can’t stand over groomed beards and strange haircuts (waxed, sharp buzzcut lines, fades etc.). men who dress up “classy” always, everywhere and last - peaky blinders flat caps. no." - deleted

Aggressive driving.

"If they roll down the windows to put their elbows out or if at the red light, they're incessantly pressing on the gas to make noise, it's a no from me." - u/Narcissa96

Guys who get uncomfortable holding something feminine.

Unsplash | Creative Headline

Whether it be our purse or a box of emergency tampons, this Redditor writes that it's a major turn-off if the guy freaks out. Your masculinity won't be tarnished by one purse!

An obsession with fitness.

Unsplash | Victor Freitas

"Guys that are too focused on fitness, usually spills over into judging me. I want to be able to enjoy a pizza without being judged or go out for dinner without worrying about every carb." - u/Amycarivera

Littering.

Unsplash | Claudio Schwarz

"First time is a freebie if you pick it up, but the second time it’s over. I lose so much respect and it’s highly difficult to bounce back from. I can’t respect someone that doesn’t respect Mother Earth." -u/beansntostinos

Lack of physical affection outside of sex.

A woman wants to feel desired by her man, whether that's a hug, a kiss, or even squeezing their arm as they walk by. If we have to nag you about this, it's not good.

Guys who are obsessed with sports.

"I was casually dating a guy who told me he would have to check a hockey schedule before telling me if he could go on a free cruise with me. So weird and a major turn off." -u/jahoefs

A high-pitched voice.

Fx

While this one might seem pretty shallow, it's a dealbreaker for some. This Redditor writes that it doesn't matter if they're handsome, funny, tall, etc. If their voice is high-pitched or too soft, it's a pass.
