I Hate It Here: People Actually Like Mac 'N' Cheese Ice Cream

It seems as though more and more, people are coming up with new and crazy ways to combine foods and flavors to break through the market. Combining flavors and textures in food is nothing new, but the way in which people are responding and coming up with these ideas certainly is.

With social media, it's easier than ever to promote products through Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok.

Many times, companies look to social media to break the mold.

Companies look to social media and social media users to break the mold and create some controversy and excitement around products.

Sometimes, this is done by making things that no one expects or even asked for. Like, combinations that make us go, "hmmm maybe not."

However, there are always people in the world that will get out there and try things.

Whether we think it's nasty or kind of interesting, there are always people out there who will want to go and grab the latest creations from big companies that are posted online and on social media.

Recently, Kraft decided to get in on the fun of reinventing themselves.

Kraft Mac N' Cheese has been a staple of all of our homes for years.

There's nothing easier for parents than opening a few boxes of Kraft and making dinner for the kids. Plus, kids absolutely love mac n' cheese.

Now, Kraft is breaking the mold with their concoction.

Kraft created their new product to celebrate National Mac and Cheese Day on July 14 this year.

The company partnered up with Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, an ice cream company based in Brooklyn, to launch their mac n' cheese flavored ice cream.

And, the ice cream is all real, all good.

The ice cream apparently is safe for everyone, as it contains absolutely no preservatives, food colorings, or artificial flavors.

The creation, however, has been a hit amongst many people, despite how gross it truly sounds. Cold and creamy mac n' cheese? Gags

When news first broke, people were grossed out.

When the news first broke that Kraft was going down this rabbit hole, people were utterly repulsed and grossed out. And, many were like—"just why?"

Clearly, that's the appropriate response to have when someone tells you there is such a thing as mac n' cheese flavored ice cream.

And, yet, there are some people out there that are living for this.

The ice cream product is limited edition and, because of the popularity and hype behind it, the ice cream sold out in mere minutes.

Not to mention, Kraft's website literally crashed when they launched the product and people couldn't even get their hands on it—despite weirdly wanting to.

The fact that people are buying it, I'll never understand.

The ice cream is not only $12 a pint (yeah, that's pretty pricy for ice cream in my books), but people are really buying it so much nationwide that it's sold out. Sold out!

Can you imagine people lining up for this, like a new iPhone release?!?

Clearly, Kraft knows their market.

Despite my distaste for this product entirely, it seems as though Kraft truly knows their market and how to advertise their products well.

Good on them for making a name for themselves, yet again, in the food industry. For now, I'll have to say pass.
