Parents who travel with kids know that it isn't easy. Children much more so than adults can get cranky when they don't have anything to do. So often, tired caretakers will let their kids do whatever they want. But that's not always the right thing to do.

This one mom encountered an unhappy passenger, and she went to TikTok to ask what other people would have done in her situation. Let's find out more about this story. Come on!

A British woman who currently lives in Ibiza recently traveled with her kids.

Her two little girls were playing at the airport, while at the gate, and as she said herself they were "running, screaming and jumping, just having fun." But an "older man" had a problem with it.

Apparently, the man got very annoyed.

And he started shouting at the kids. According to this mom, her kids got so scared that they sat down. So this mom went to TikTok to find out what other parents would have done in that situation.

And the comments on the thread were interesting.

Most people said that even though it's okay for the kids to play, screaming and jumping at the airport would be too much for anybody to handle. I can only imagine how loud or unruly they must've gotten because I wasn't there.

Most people also pointed out this.

An airport isn't a playground, so it should be treated as such. It's a common area where a lot of people come to rest after a long journey. So the last thing they need is a couple of screaming kids to deal with.

There's a time and place for everything.

A lot of fellow parents have said that their kids wouldn't be allowed to run around a busy airport, much less scream and jump. That's a big no-no for most who have commented on this post.

A mom even said this.

"Airports are not playgrounds same as supermarkets retail settings etc. I’m a mum and I understand where the man’s coming from."

And then this person chimed in, "same in restaurants & cafes, nothing worse when ur tryna (sp) enjoy ur coffee/meal and ya have kids screaming and running wild while their mothers sit back."

Amen.

Then this mom admitted.

"This is why I hate going out with my child, I can't control when he decides to be loud."

I can see her point too. It must be hard to control your kid's behavior. After all, they are just kids, and they easily get bored. So what is a parent to do, huh? I do sympathize.

This is a great teaching moment for the kids.

I like what this person said: "It's tough for kids, but a learning moment for them that not everywhere is a playground, even if they're bored."

Do you agree with that?

In follow-up videos, the mom explained how she actually handled the situation.

She said she shouted back at the man and stood up for her kids' right to play and express themselves, emphasizing how previous generations of kids were taught to be seen and not heard.

"I'm not saying that what I did was right, it was what I said in the moment and it was what I felt to be truthful."

So what do you think of this story?

How would you have handled this situation if these were your kids? Would you have let them play like that at the airport in the first place? Or would you have taught them to just sit and wait like everyone is doing? How would you have responded to this annoyed older passenger?
