Any parent who's ever flown on a plane with a small child knows how challenging it can be. There's no doubt that crying babies are irritating on a flight.

A man recently posted a video on TikTok of passengers soothing a crying child, and as you might have guessed, the video quickly went viral. So let me tell you all about this story because something tells me it may just make your day.

Check this out.

Parikshit Balochi was flying from his home in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to Albania for a four-day backpacking trip on March 10. That's when an unruly child started crying. But what happened next is actually pretty sweet.

Here's how this story unfolded.

A passenger sitting behind Balochi and the crying child started quietly murmuring the words to "Baby Shark," in a bid to comfort the kid. So Balochi chimed in himself. Being a confident radio host used to public speaking Balochi wasn't shy when it came to singing out loud.

But what came next surprised him.

Slowly other passengers started singing out loud, too. And before you know it, most of the people on board were singing along to the popular children's song, haha. Balochi thought it was such a nice spontaneous gesture that he recorded a few seconds of it on his phone.

Thinking nothing of it he posted it on TikTok.

When he landed, he was surprised that he had over 120 TikTok notifications, and his short video was blowing up. I guess other folks on the platform thought it was a pleasant surprise, too, ha, ha. In the end, he got 7-million views. Wow!

And the comments from strangers started to pour in.

Pretty much all the comments were of the positive kind. People were praising the passengers for being so understanding. Many commented that they were surprised that everyone took so kindly to this crying child, instead of just giving the parents a dirty look, ha, ha.

Amen to that.

Unless you're a parent who's been in a similar situation, it can be hard to understand. I totally get that, and I have myself gotten irritated with crying children onboard a plane. I can admit to that. So if there's a better way to diffuse it, I'm all for it.

Here are some other things people said.

I have to admit I do agree with both of these comments. Often enough, these situations can turn ugly, and it doesn't have to be that way. After all, this is only a child, and he doesn't know any better, so it was nice to see people realize that and sympathize.

Imagine if it didn't go this way?

If the other passengers got mad at the parents, it would have been a totally different kind of situation. And it definitely would have made it harder for them to soothe their child. This way, everyone enjoyed the moment and tried to make the best of it. Am I right?

Did it renew your faith in humanity? It sure did for me. I mean, people have been so nasty lately that it makes me happy to hear something on the opposite spectrum. Being trapped on a plane with strangers is always challenging, and to see people react this way is really lovely.
