Disney’s Cars tends to divide people. If you are anything like me, however, then it remains firmly atop your list of favorite animated films !
Below are 10+ mistakes in Cars that fans didn’t notice.
Put your knowledge to the test and see which of these (if any) that you were able to spot your first time around. Let’s get into the article!
1. The motto over the door of the courtroom is spelled wrong.

The Latin phrase is “Justitiae via strata Veritate,” which translates to “The way of Justice is paved with Truth .”
In the film, if you look closely, the second “I” is missing from Justitiae.
2. What color is the RPM crew chief?
He appears to change colors at different times. Watch as “Petrol” Pulaski gives Winford Bradford Rutherford some oil:
In the close-up shot, he’s white. But in the wider shot that shows all of the cars, he’s yellow.
3. A rookie racer already won the Piston Cup.

Don’t forget that Doc Hudson won the Piston Cup back in 1951.
The Hudson Hornet was first introduced by the Hudson Motor Car Company that very same year, making Doc a rookie racer!
4. What’s up with the confetti?

Pay attention to the cars on the podium after the first big race. Confetti cannons are exploding all around and the sky is filled with tiny pieces of paper.
Yet not a single piece of confetti lands on a single car.
5. What happened to the tractors that Mater flipped?

When Mater takes Lightning out into the fields to go tractor tipping, we watch as he tips two in order to show Lightning how it’s done.
Lightning tries and ends up tipping the entire field.
But when the camera cuts to the wide angle of the entire field, the two tractors Mater originally tipped have vanished!

We watch as all the tractors begin to tip over.
There should have been two shown that were already tipped.
6. Horsepower wouldn’t help Lightning tow Bessie.

For his punishment, Lightning is sentenced to pave the road. Upon hearing the news, Sally remarks that he certainly has the horsepower required.
Horsepower has very little to do with towing a car. It’s all about torque .
7. Didn’t Lightning McQueen blow out both of his tires?
During the very first race, Lightning McQueen wins the race in brilliant fashion — even with two blown rear tires.
Sparks fly as he rides on the rims, but somehow he manages to still pull off the win!
But after the race, while Lightning gives his interview, you can see that the back tires still have rubber!

Umm shouldn’t there just be two rims? Considering we just witnessed Lightning’s massive blow-out not even two minutes prior?
It’s a pretty obvious mistake to miss.
8. The reflection is all wrong.
Pay attention during the final race in the film. As Lightning looks to pass the green car, we can see the chromed-out “C” logo reflecting in Lightning’s hood.
However, the reflection should be a mirrored image, and instead the “C” face in the right direction.
9. There’s no camera on the side of Mack.

Lightning McQueen has a pretty slick transport. While on the road, we see him talking to Mack via video camera.
Which is strange, considering there’s no visible camera on the side of Mack whatsoever?
10. Those two cars have the same number.

If you scan the competition during the opening race, you’re bound to do a double-take. Both the “Re-Volting” car as well as the “Apple” car are painted in #84.
Which would make things pretty confusing for the announcers and the fans.
11. What happened to Snot Rod?

Right before Lightning McQueen falls asleep and falls out of Mack, we see Snot Rod and three other cars pacing Mack alongside the trailer.
When the camera cuts to Lightning, they disappear. When it cuts back to the front-view of Mack, they’ve somehow managed to reappear.
12. Why does that car have a mattress tied to the roof?

This happens right as Mack wants to pull off the highway because he’s falling asleep behind the wheel — literally.
All of a sudden, a car zooms past with a mattress on its roof rack. But in a world without people, why does a car need a mattress?
13. Mater is towing Lighting McQueen from the wrong end.

When Lightning McQueen first wakes up in the impound yard, you can clearly see that the “boot” is locked to his driver’s side tire.
So why would Mater tow him from the back if one of the front tires was locked?
