With winter in full swing, the idea of going out with anything less than a full set of winter gear seems like sacrilege to most of us. If anything, we’re showing a lot of restraint by not bringing a whole dogsled team with us everywhere we go.
However, it seems that some folks are heartier than most when it comes to the elements. Spend a little time googling it and you find that there’s a polar bear club in your area. These people take intrepid plunges in freezing cold waters, usually in support of a local charity.
But even they don’t go quite as hard as the woman in the full video does.
It’s unclear who this woman is, but we do know she tried to make her big splash in Balashikha, Russia.

And in true polar bear fashion, she faced the serious chill with only a bikini and a winter hat on.
But in case there wasn’t enough heat loss happening here, it isn’t long before the hat comes off.

As she tosses it aside, she makes her daring run for the frozen lake. If the thought of breaking the ice intimidates her, she doesn’t show it.
Once she reaches the edge, she does a flying leap and tucks in her knees.

Since the lake isn’t full of people who would get annoyed about being splashed, it seemed like the perfect opportunity for a cannonball.
Of course, it wouldn’t be right to let you go without a chance to see the full video yourself.
This is one of those things that needs to be seen in action, especially when you factor in the surprisingly loud thump she made om impact.
Obviously, the reactions on this video are priceless.

She’s a woman, and she’s nearly b**t-naked, so there’s always gonna be some weirdos. This one was relatively tame.
Others were quick to meme the situation because, well, the internet.

To be fair, this is probably how a lot of flirtation attempts go.
She’s not the only one that’s failed this hard at something potentially epic, though.
Get a load of her twin soul, taking a not-so-deep dive into his pool.
Then there’s the classic vodka-induced slip and slide move.
It looks kinda painful, but the laugh really lets everyone know he’s alright.
This is like if every person who doesn’t understand the concept of ice, had a meet up.
Give your heads a shake, boys.
Then again, if you’re Canadian, this is just a cute prequel to the real deal.
And the real deal is purposefully swimming in ice-cold waters.
That’s right, here’s likely hundreds of weirdo northerners in Toronto running into a lake.
In December. My skin hurts from watching this.
Whether you’re a girl in a bathing suit making your way into (or onto) the ice…
Or a silly man gathering fellow dummies onto a semi-frozen lake, be careful and have fun!
