I love birthdays. I famously enjoy other people’s birthdays more than my own, which is saying a lot because I friggin love my birthday. I love making other people feel special and reminding them why they’re fabulous. Of course, birthdays as an adult are very different than what you’re a child because you have an understanding of life’s hard realities.
So if my husband tried to pull the stunt I’m about to tell you about, I’d be in a blind rage.
We all know one person who takes their birthday a bit too seriously.
Sure, we’re all happy to go out for dinner to celebrate you but to make us attend 3 dinners, 2 excursions, 4 cocktail parties, and 1 black-tie party all in honor of you turning 37 might make us wonder what we’re all doing with out lives.
But hey, at least those events sound fun!

Do you know what doesn’t sound fun? Your husband giving you a list of demands in honor of his birthday month. Nope, that sounds like a joke doesn’t it? Well, for one Reddit user, this was far from a funny bit from her beau.
Taking to Reddit to air out her frustrations, one woman explained that her husband recently handed her a list of demands in honor of his birthday month.
“My husband is turning 30 next month. It’s a big deal for him clearly and he wanted to rightfully be ‘pampered’ and feel special on this occasion,” she wrote , before detailing his requests.
If you’re thinking the list of demands would be cheeky like an afternoon delight one day, or a special date night away from the kids, you’re VERY wrong.

Instead, this man has asked that he not be expected to do any household chores for the month, gets unlimited, uninterrupted time playing videos games, not pay his part of the rent for the month, have permission to go hang out with his friends whenever he wants, and lastly, to be given the opportunity to sleep in on any given weekday and not help get the kids to school, carpool etc.
“In other words he wants a month long vacation and time off from his responsibilities as a partner and as a father,” explained.
When the wife expressed her concerns, her husband assured her it was only for the duration of his 30th birthday month.
The wife explained that she already does the majority of the household work and feels this request is completely unfair, especially considering their financial situation.
She then went on to ask the lovely people of Reddit if she was in the wrong for shutting down her husband’s idea of a birthday month.

As you can imagine, everyone totally agreed that the husband was completely out of line and a total jerk.
Good for this woman for even caring how she came across to him. If I was her, my husband would be getting divorce papers for his birthday!
