For many, the idea of living in a small space is a nightmare, especially when it comes to storage. However, one New York woman has found the magic formula for how to store things in her compact bedroom.
Her hacks are total game-changers for people who have a tricky time fitting in their tiny dwelling places. For her, size doesn’t matter when you know exactly what to do.

A woman named Courtney crafted some small space solutions
Courtney Collins, AKA @courtpeycoll, is a New York-based TikTok creative that had to figure out how to fit her furniture in a 10×7 ft bedroom. Fortunately, her hacks have been life-savers along her small space journey.

1. Utilize Closet Space
For Courtney, it is key to make closet space work for her, meaning using her small (but mighty) mini closet to store as many of her dresses as possible for a cramped yet cohesive fit.

2. Vertical Shoe Rack
Courtney is a firm believer in Amazon items for storage hacks, including getting lots of vertical storage like this 10-tier shoe rack that fits nicely in the corner of her narrow room.
3. Vertical shelf
Also from Amazon, this vertical shelf is where Courtney stores her purses and other items that wouldn’t otherwise fit.
4. Using a fireplace as storage
Okay, so this one definitely won’t work for everyone, especially if you don’t have a fireplace and/or it’s just not safe to put things in an unused one. However, if you have an empty fireplace, this hack could be your new game-changer for storage.
Courtney certainly found her fireplace to be a space for books, journals and other goodies.
5. A corner desk
For some, having any kind of desk in a small space may seem completely impossible, but Courtney’s suggestion is to get something on the sleek side. A corner desk allows for a seamless fit and even room for more storage on top of the desk.
She was even able to fit her cute green office chair!
6. Use curtains for covered up storage
As they say, when something is out of sight, it’s also out of mind. That may not be true for everything, but for Courtney, putting her sweaters behind her curtains makes things a lot easier.
Once she pulls her curtains in front of her items, it’s like they’re not even there!
7. Double-tiered clothing rack
Another Amazon find is this double tiered clothing rack that Courtney uses for a variety of items, including her hair tools. Its compact fit is exactly what a small space needs to shine.
Under bed storage
While this is particularly great for small spaces, it’s honestly a great hack for anyone that has a lot of clothes or just items that they only need to get out occasionally. Courtney puts her pants and sweaters in under bag storage bags, but honestly they’re great for storing just about anything.
