There are people all over the world who struggle with getting a good night’s sleep . Many of us toss and turn throughout the night due to stress and restlessness. With so much going on in our lives and in the world, it’s pretty common that many of us need help to track our sleeping patterns.
However, one woman underwent a traumatic experience when using her sleep tracking app and it’s leaving all of us shook .
There are a lot of apps on the market geared toward tracking people’s sleep patterns.

It may be hard for people to choose between the dozens of apps on the market that are geared toward people who need to track and manage their sleeping patterns. ShutEye is just one of the many apps on the market that many people use.
ShutEye recognizes, calculates, and analyzes your sleep patterns.

The app does this by using the microphone that is built into your phone. According to the app’s website , it analyzes these sleep patterns using “artificial intelligence algorithms to produce your sleep status information.”
One part of the SleepEye app is that it “records” your sleep.

The microphone picks up on sounds, using your own breathing (and sometimes snoring), and can pick up on different sounds in the room —such as your pets. However, one woman’s SleepEye app picked up on something else entirely.
A mom from Cramlington decided to download SleepEye to aid in her sleep.

Robyn Esplin was home with her son and her two dogs using the app when she was startled by a sound that was picked up through the app’s microphone in her sleep. The sound was not her, nor her son, nor either of her dogs.
The sound happened to be the voice of a man.

Esplin shared that the app picked up a voice of a man, who was heard saying “Can I rip down the sheets?” The voice also spoke in a Cockney accent.
At the end of the recording, she can hear her dog barking.

Some may consider that the recording was not hers or that the app messed up their playback. However, Esplin said that at the end of the recording, you can hear her dog barking.
Esplin is confused as to how this happened.

As she does not live with a man, nor know anyone with a Cockney accent, Esplin was left extremely nervous and on edge. She is now saying that she’s scared to sleep at night.
Now, the mom is trying to get answers.

“I’ve listened to it over and over again, trying to figure out how it’s been picked up. What’s getting me is that’s definitely Alan’s bark at the end of the clip,” she stated .
She believes that her dog, Alan, heard something to trigger the barking.

“He’s heard something in order to bark because if there’s any sort of noise he’ll start yapping away, otherwise he’s sound asleep – I just can’t get my head around it,” she shared .
Apparently, no one else has experienced this on the app.

“I’ve Googled it and tried to do some research into the app to see if it’s a glitch that has happened to a lot of people, but absolutely nothing comes up. The sleep app itself is rated as number one and accuracy is said to be above 90%,” she said .
Esplin has reached out to the app for an explanation.

Both Esplin and Chronicle Live reached out to SleepEye to see if they had any insight as to why this was happening, however, the app has not reached back out for comments as of yet. Clearly, they have some explaining to do!
