Someone who knows this well is @thevrconsultants on TikTok . She often shares the crazy and shocking stories she hears from her guests on the app.
Her most recent story involving a mother who mistakenly thought her son passed away was one of the wildest.
You don’t hear that every day! She began by explaining that she was checking in a guest who was visiting town for a celebration of life ceremony.
Since a celebration of life is another word for a funeral, she expressed her sympathies.
But then the woman shared that she was actually celebrating a life! That’s because the woman had mistakenly thought that her son was dead.
She explained that the mixup all started after her son went out for his 21st birthday celebration.
After he noticed that he had lost his phone, he confronted the person behind him. This person wasn’t having it. They punched him and knocked him against the bar top, rendering him unconscious.
The woman’s son was sent to the hospital, while the thief who stole the phone ran to another bar.
There, he got into another confrontation and ended up running away from the police. Since he pulled out a gun, the officers shot him and he fell down and hit his face on the curb.
While all of this chaos was happening, the mother was trying to reach her son.
“She’s calling her son, not picking up because he’s laying in a hospital unconscious,” the TikToker explained. When she finally gets through, guess who answers?
The coroner’s office, that’s who.
The thief had stolen her son’s phone, after all. When the coroner asks the mother to identify his body, the confusion continues since both her son and the attacker look alike. The facial injuries also made it hard to tell the two men apart.
The story took a shocking twist from there.
When the family held a funeral for the son a few days later, the mother noticed a tattoo on her son’s arm that she didn’t see before. That’s when it hit her: this isn’t her son.
“So she’s at the funeral, freaking out,” the TikToker said.
“‘Not my son, not my son.’ Everyone’s like, “Oh my god, this mom’s freaking out because she is like oh my god my baby’s dead.’ No, no, no, she’s freaking out because she now just realizes that that’s not her son.”
She didn’t care that she had paid for a funeral for someone else.
“I almost cried,” the TikToker explained. “She said she would have paid for 100 funerals to have her son back.” The wild story shocked so many viewers.
“Imagine laying in a hospital wondering why nobody has come to see you and find out it’s because they’re at YOUR funeral,” one wrote.
“Wow. This has to be my story of the day. Wow,” another added .
