It’s always interesting when women beat stereotypes, especially the “can’t drive” allegations. People (most especially men) like to believe that women aren’t smart enough to do many things hence their faux awe every time someone proves them wrong.
This woman not only knew how to drive but swerved out of a parking lot with such flair that her husband was dumbfounded.
Of course, he shared the impressive moment on Reddit and got mixed reactions , with many men discrediting the woman’s talent and trying their hardest to explain it away as a lucky swerve.

An Impressive 180 Swerve
The video came from a security camera outside the original poster’s (OP) house, so we assume the driver was unaware of the recording. The vehicle was a minivan with tinted glasses, so we couldn’t confirm who was inside the vehicle, but there’s no reason to lie unprovoked, so we’re taking the OP’s word for it.
The 2nd December recording showed the lady reversing out of the snow-covered driveway and then doing a 180-degree turn to head in the opposite direction.
This move was impressive because the typical practice is for the driver to reverse and face the car’s fender in the direction they’re going, not the opposite.

A Summary Of All The Excuses Made To Avoid Giving That Woman Props
As earlier noted, most people in the comments did mental gymnastics trying to explain why the lady couldn’t have pulled it off.
Some chalked it off to luck, others resorted to minimizing the exceptionalism of the maneuver, saying, “anybody can do it,” and some people outrightly asked for proof that she was behind the wheel (like they had the right!)
Some Reddit users were good sports and teased the OP saying his wife learned her “sick” drift from Grand Theft Auto and other simulated video games.
The “its luck” merchants became overnight scientists as they tried explaining how the snow made the drift easy. They forgot that it was more probable for it to make the maneuver risky since the slippery floors could’ve made her lose control of the wheels.
One of the commenters applauded her talents, saying she whipped the vehicle like someone who knew what they were doing. The worst lot on the subreddit were those who questioned her parenting because “how dare a woman know how to do something a ‘man’ does easily!”
Whatever their excuses, the fact remains this woman made an impressive swerve and enjoyed a steaming cup of coffee after.
