There are very few things in the world that are more difficult than experiencing a loss in the family. Losing someone you are close to is never not painful.
But life has very strange ways of keeping the memories of loved ones alive, even long after they no long are. One TikTok user experienced that in the form of her son, who bears a striking resemblance to her deceased brother.

Back in September, the user posted her video.
Casey ( @casey.maj ) posted a video explaining that her brother had died eight years ago and she “never thought she would see him again.” She then shows a picture of her brother as a young child, back in 1984.
She then shows a picture of her young son from this year.
The picture shows how her son shares so much of a resemblance to her brother when he was around that age, they could’ve practically been twins.
The TikTok ended up going absolutely viral.
It’s been viewed over 8.3 million times to date, with so many commenters expressing their own feelings toward loss, life, and how the TikTok ended up bringing them to tears.
Plenty of people expressed how amazing they think the resemblance is.
One user wrote, “Gave me chills!! Literally twins.”
“Oh I immediately burst into tears!! They’re twins,” another expressed.
A different user said, “I watched this five or six times, it’s such a beautiful thought.”
Many shared their own, similar stories.
One user commented, “I lost my sister when she was 19. I have twin girls and they look like her.”
Another said, “Isn’t it wonderful how God gives us exactly what we need? My son is my brothers twin also!”
This video has a lot of people believing in reincarnation.
A commenter shared, “The universe gave me back my mom as a daughter. Same fire. Same freckles. Same smile.”
A different one said, “I fully believe our soul family comes back throughout the generations. I hope my dad comes back either as my kids or my sisters kids.”
For some, they were the child that helped their parents through the pain of loss.
One user wrote, “My mom lost her brother when she was 15. 5 years later I was born on his birthday. Made it a happy day for her instead of a sad one.”
Casey later posted a follow-up video showing more pictures of her late brother.
In the TikTok, she echoes the words that many have said to her: “Wow! Your son looks so much like your big brother. It must give you comfort since he’s passed.”
In the title of the video, Casey writes, “Some days it does. Some days it just makes me cry.”
She shows a picture of herself with her son, followed by a series of pictures of her brother when he was a child.
All in all, it’s enough to bring a tear to your eye.
