Are you ready to meet one of the most badass women on social media?
Lonni, aka @grayhairandtattoos, is a middle-aged woman who recently went viral on TikTok for her perspective on dressing “your age.” Let’s dive into it.
Meet Lonni.
She’s one of the absolute coolest people I’ve ever seen. She personifies the word “cool,” if we’re being honest.
Lonni describes herself as, “your average middle-aged woman who stopped dyeing her hair and started getting more tattoos.”
She is unbelievably fashionable.
She changes up her style to fit her mood. Sometimes she’s a little punk, sometimes chic, sometimes business casual. But she’s always lookin’ fly as hell.
She’s also covered in tattoos!
She’s incredibly proud of her ink. She’s also dedicated to changing people’s perceptions of people who are tattooed — she doesn’t describe herself as “wild,” and prefers a night in to partying.
She started her social media journey to show people being over 50 doesn’t mean your life just stops.
Lonni has dedicated her Instagram , TikTok and blog to celebrating being an individual.
“Regardless of your age….Wear what makes you happy. Wear what makes you feel good about yourself. Wear what feels right.”
She’s pretty good at not listening to other people.
“We spend way too much time worrying what other people think and not enough time listening to ourselves.”
However, sometimes she gets a hateful comment on social media.
People tend to judge her, no matter what she does.

“I don’t respond to comments like this often, because truthfully, I don’t care what people think,” Lonni began in her now-viral TikTok.
Let’s just all have a moment to admire her outfit, shall we?
She’s afraid comments like that scare other people from expressing themselves through fashion.
“But, it does stop some people from dressing the way they want to. It puts that seed of doubt in their mind, like ‘Oh my God, are people going to judge me?'”
She showed off her whole outfit, which was fire.

“In honor of, I don’t know, dressing like a teenager, here’s my outfit for the day.
“I have on Hello Kitty Doc Martens, little jeans, a belt, and I French tucked my t-shirt.”
She truly wants everyone to be happy.
“So, don’t let people like this stop you. Wear what you want. Express yourself, even if people think you look like a teenager. Who cares? Take it as a compliment, I do! Have a great day. Wear what you want!”
Tons of women over 50 found her message inspiring.

A lot of women expressed how hard they found it that people thought their lives should stop after 50, and many said they just stopped caring about society’s standards.
Women over 25 are judged so harshly.

Seriously, I dreaded turning 30 because of how society treats women over 25. Imagine being 28 and stressed about your clothes! Being in your late 20s and 30s is amazing , you guys.
I think we all need to follow this little mantra.

Are you getting or giving unsolicited advice? Consider why it’s happening, who it’s coming from, and what the aim is. If it’s not to boost you up to be your best self, throw it away.
Young people totally understood her message, too.

Life doesn’t stop after a certain age. I hit 30 last year and I’m actually happier than I’ve ever been. I can’t wait to get happier and freer as I age, just like Lonnie!
This is the goal.

Seriously, I hope I age exactly like she does, and with her amazing, care-free attitude. She worked hard to get where she is, why not have fun?
This year, let’s all be Lonni.
“My vision for the new year…..color, smiles, funk, and flare.
Who’s joining me???”
I am now applying to be Lonni’s new best friend, because she is awesome.
