We tend to understand in the abstract that we never know when something bad will happen to us, but it’s somehow a lot easier to think things won’t happen to us when the scenarios get more specific.
And sure, how much you have to worry about an alligator invading your space depends a lot on where you live, but there aren’t that many places in this world where it would be impossible for our cars to suddenly become submerged .
Moreover, when tips to help us save our own lives involve threats from other people , all bets are off as to when we’re going to need this advice.
And that’s why one woman is now sharing what we can do if a car starts following us while we’re driving.
Last year, a woman who goes by Olivia Snake uploaded a series of TikToks containing advice that could potentially save our lives.

As we’ve just discussed, one of them involves protecting ourselves from motorists with ill intentions. Appropriately, the first step she outlined was to actually confirm that this person is following you.
The maps above her illustrate that if we’re driving through a neighborhood, we should take four right turns around a given block. If we’re on the highway, we should take the next exit before immediately re-entering the highway at the next available opportunity.
In her words, “If the car behind you is doing the same thing, it’s probably following you.”

After all, what reason would that driver have to just naturally follow this pattern?
But once we’re aware that someone is following us, we have to remember that the places we would normally consider safe aren’t going to help us in this situation.
And it’s for this reason that the woman said, “Don’t drive home or to work, or to anyone you know’s house.”

After all, going to any of these places only gives the stalker your personal information and tells them where they can expect to find you.
With this is mind, there are only a couple of options to get rid of this person without escalating the situation.
As we can see in the video available here, the woman either recommends driving to a police station or to keep moving as you were before you noticed the other driver and alert the police to your location.
One option seems more likely to scare them off while the other is more likely to get them caught, but it depends on what you can do in that moment.
