Woman Challenges Herself To Wear The Same Dress For 100 Days In A Row

What if you had to wear the same outfit every day for 100 days? Would you be able to do so? Would it be easy, or would you get completely sick of it?

This woman wore the same dress for 100 days to prove a point and to challenge herself. She also documented her journey on Instagram . Let’s check it out.

Sarah Robbins-Cole took on a very unusual challenge back in 2020.

She, as well as about 250 other women, partnered up with a clothing brand Wool&. The 100-day challenge entailed wearing the same garment for the whole duration of the challenge.

Sarah chose a long-sleeved, knee-length black Rowena dress for this occasion.

The dress, made from sustainably sourced merino wool, is according, to Sarah, very comfortable. I guess that’s a good thing since she had to wear it for 100 days in a row, ha, ha!

So what was the point of this challenge?

The brand, Wool&, challenged women to live without fast fashion and to help save the planet. Wow, talking about an interesting and worthy cause. Am I right? Hmm, what outfit would you pick for this challenge?

This challenge seemed quite fitting for Sarah, who is a college chaplain.

She even joked that it made her take her job very seriously. She literally became the “lady of the cloth.” At least she has a great sense of humor about it.

To Sarah’s surprise, wearing the same outfit didn’t take anything away from her life.

In fact, this challenge inspired her to take on a new challenge for 2021. She vowed to not buy any new outfits between January 1, 2021, and January 1, 2022.

It’s amazing to realize that at the age of 52, you pretty much have all the outfits you’ll ever need.

There is no need to buy anything new, really. You can just recycle all your clothes and create a brand new outfit out of them.

So back to the original challenge.

How did Sarah get through all 100 days of wearing the same thing? Well, as you can probably guess — she accessorized it. It’s not that hard when you think about it. Am I right?

Sarah was allowed to wash and dry the dress overnight.

But come morning she had to wear it again. Sarah ended up documenting the whole thing on her Instagram page. She got a lot of positive feedback from her followers.

The challenge helped Sarah to change her spending habits and reduce her laundry load.

It also changed the way Sarah felt about how she looks and dresses. And of course, the goal was to show people that not buying fast fashion helps our planet.

Sarah feels that there is too much emphasis on how people look these days.

It’s pretty apparent when she speaks to her students. This repetitive wardrobe helped her to simplify her life and put less importance on how one looks.
