Noel Hogan, Barnes’ ex-boyfriend, was also discovered by authorities locked in the apartment’s back room with a chest wound, according to police sources .
For care and assessment, Hogan was brought to Maimonides Medical Center. It was a mystery how he had survived the wound.

According to the authorities’ confirmation on Friday, he is being held.
Always Having Dispute
Between May 2021 and July 2022, the couple was the subject of eight marital disputes, according to the authorities.
According to police, Hogan is the suspect in seven incidents.
No Sounds During Attack
An upstairs neighbor named Gilberto Sosa, 63 claimed that he was not aware of any sounds during the purported Wednesday night attack.
She Lives Alone
Barnes reportedly moved into the apartment five or six years ago, and according to Sosa, he thinks she lives alone.
They Look Like A Normal Couple
Around 8 p.m. on Wednesday, police showed up at Barnes’ house. He claimed that recently, her ex-boyfriend hadn’t been around as frequently as he used to see him.
When they visited the beach, “they were constantly together,” he added. They appeared to be a normal partner.
A Mom And Grandma
However, she “operated a very successful business in San Francisco,” according to Mike Monroe, her ex-husband.
Karen has two daughters, 30 and 29, and a 5-year-old granddaughter.

Hogan Has Been Charged
As per the authorities, Hogan was charged with manslaughter and criminally negligent murder.
According to neighbors, Barnes and Hogan were frequently at odds; Barnes died with two adult children and a grandson. One neighbor claimed that the two argued before the cops were called on Wednesday night.
