If you’re regularly tuning in to watch Wheel of Fortune , you know Pat Sajak is usually a calm, cool and professional host. It’s rare the beloved TV personality will ever get sassy with a contestant — he truly has the patience of an angel!
However, as a true Christmas gift from above, Pat recently snapped at an “ungrateful” contestant on the show and it was iconic AF.

People love to cozy up every weeknight and watch these two entertain fans across the country!
However, this past week saw Pat lose his cool a bit on an “ungrateful” contestant.
This attitude is so out of the blue for the 74-year-old!
Maybe he was in a bad mood because he wasn’t named “Sexiest Man Alive” earlier this month!
During a recent episode of *Wheel Of Fortune*, Pat turned to Vanna and made a hilariously powerful declaration.
“This may surprise you but think about it, it’s true. For as many years as I’ve done this, I’ve never been named People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive,” Pat told Vanna .
“First of all, I think it’s the ‘alive’ part that’s holding me back,” he joked.
“But the other thing is, I have a plan,” Pat went on. “I’m going to take care of myself as I get older. If I do the show long enough, I think eventually they’ll say, ‘You know, maybe, he’s the ‘Sexiest Man Alive’… for his age.'”
It’s this fabulous sense of humor that makes fans tune in night after night to the beloved game show!
Which is why it was so weird to see Pat get feisty with a contestant last week!

It all started when contestant Darin McBain solved a puzzle for things that begin with the word “kitchen” by correctly listing, “Cabinet, oven, towels, sink.”
You know, just your standard kitchen items!
However, instead of accepting his win and moving on, Darin questioned the kitchen oven answer: “Kitchen oven? What was that?”
In response to the question, Pat quipped back, “Yeah, where else would you keep an oven?”
Darin took it a step further and asked, “For sure in the kitchen, but who calls it a ‘kitchen oven?’”
Pat responded, “You won! Don’t argue, Darin! You got the puzzle! Ungrateful players, I’ve had it!” before adding, “No, I’m just teasing. I finally snapped!”
Toward the end of the show, Pat apologized for yelling at Darin.
“I’m sorry I yelled at you. It’s just — I don’t remember your mother giving us trouble like you did,” he said, referencing when Darin’s mom previously appeared on the show.
Naturally, social media was buzzing from the sassy comeback.
Some people felt he was being rather r**e to Darin, with some fans even suggesting he retire!
However, many fans were quick to defend the game show host and insist he was just playing around!
“Pat Sajak was joking, people,” tweeted one fan.
“Anybody that watches the show knows that he jokes around a lot,” tweeted another.
“And one must be crazy to think that he meant any harm by that,” they concluded .
