Back in January, fans were told that Nicole Kidman would be playing Lucille Ball in a biopic about the downfall of her marriage with Dezi Arnaz.
At the time, fans weren’t sold on the idea. There was a lot of backlash about the decision to cast the Australian actress in such a beloved role.
Many fans believed that Debra Messing should have taken on the role, considering how well she did while recreating “I Love Lucy” on “Will and Grace” a few years back.
Last month, a teaser trailer was released for the Amazon film but now, fans have gotten a full trailer and I must say we all owe Nicole Kidman an apology.
The trailer, released on Wednesday, shows Nicole as Lucy and Javier Bardem as Desi as the pair battle a political smear campaign and a complicated marriage.
The film will follow the pair during one critical week while filming I Love Lucy .
Look, I will be the first to say I was wrong — Nicole Kidman looks like she does a fantastic job, and she sounds just like Lucy!
Since the film is a drama, it makes sense that they cast an actress who has experience in that genre.
Now, I can’t wait to see it!
