Going Through Counseling
Jessica must have been shocked to have witnessed such a bizarre situation; however, Walmart is doing everything possible to ensure all involved are looked after. Jessica claimed that Walmart provides counseling services to her and her coworkers, who were there throughout the tragic event. She still isn’t sure if going to counseling is the best course of action for her.
Jessica is interacting with the cops in the interim. She is not yet prepared to openly address the hostage issue, though.
How It All Started
The horrifying video recorded by a customer showed the shooter heading toward the front of the store while holding the gun close to the head of a terrified female employee.
The reason the woman pulled the gun was unknown, but she was spotted quaking in fear. The employee was unharmed.
The event happened a month after the Virginia mass shooting that killed six Walmart employees. The woman can be heard shouting at the beginning of the video, which was captured on camera inside Walmart.
Not Ready To Give Up Her Job
Jessica, a front-end team lead role at Walmart with ten years of service, reports that one of her superiors called her on Thursday to see how she was doing. She isn’t ready to quit the only job that she’s ever had.
Jessica claims that Walmart plays a significant role in her life and that her coworkers and some of the regular customers mean a lot to her.
Jessica seems unfazed by the frightening occurrence since she would rather return to work than look for employment elsewhere. Would you think you would continue working in a position where your life was in danger at gunpoint?
What The Police Had To Say About The Incident
The police chief in Richland, Nick McLendon, referred to the officer-involved incident as “devastating” while highlighting how difficult the holidays can be for certain people. Particularly those like Corlunda McGinister, who passed away due to the incident.
“It’s devastating for all parties involved – the officers, everybody that was involved in this situation,’ McLendon told the news outlet. ‘You know, with the Christmas season coming, mental health is a big deal because of the stress involved in the Christmas season.'”
