Do you ever think about how the portions you get at Chipotle are… kind of small? Well, you aren’t alone.
A recent viral TikTok delves into that very topic, showing the stinginess of the chain’s meat portion sizes.
It all started with a video.

In a TikTok uploaded this past December by @misterdado , a Chipotle worker is being asked to put extra steak on the customer’s burrito.
Titled, “I know I’m not the only one who feels pressed about this!!” you can probably guess where it’s going to go.
The 10-second clip features the uploader, Damir Kasupovik, asking “Can you put extra steak?” and being disappointed at the amount of “extra” steak the Chipotle worker added to his burrito -— just one piece!
So he asked for some more.
“No bro, can you add extra extra?” Kasupovik asks. The worker puts a few more pieces on the burrito, which still seemed kind of stingy to Kasupovik.
The whole thing seems pretty odd.
The caption in the video reads, “why Chipotle employees act like they scooping out of their paycheck when they making these bowls and burritos.”
And of course, debate ensues.
Everyone had an opinion on whether that Chipotle employee was in the wrong, or if he was just doing his job they way he’s been instructed.
It seems like management can be pretty strict about portions.
“I used to work there, they post a paper every week of portions used vs. expected profit, you do get disciplined for poor percentages,” one comment from @rigadoons reads.
Others pointed out that it’s just how it works.
“Usually places like this portion sizes are set. If you ask for ‘extra’ then you should get extra but expect to be charged for it,” a comment from @tjohn0617 reads.
But does that have to mean the portions need to be so small?
User @user577853651 writes, “This exactly why I don’t go here. Too much of everything else and 4 pieces of meat.”
Looks like the chain has a bit of a reputation for being stingy when it comes to meat.
“Imagine being known as the restaurant that’s cheap on meat,” writes user @dooshbrah.
