Parents do so, so much for their kids, and often it takes us long into adulthood to really grasp just how much they’ve done, both in terms of the day-to-day care and rearing, and the more grand gestures of making birthdays special and taking us on vacations.
Their sacrifices are just mind-boggling.
Joe Riquelme has worked hard for his money.
The young man has been remarkably successful early in life, creating and founding Videoshop , an iPhone app that allows you to easily edit and share videos.

And after his hard work paid off, he wanted to show his folks just how much he appreciated them.
So, for a Christmas surprise, Joe sat his folks down on the family couch for a little talk.
Maybe they had a clue something was going on because he was recording it, but Joe had a surprise in store for his folks, a simple, white envelope.
One gift for both of his parents.
Inside was the kind of thing most of us has dreamed of giving our folks, a short, eight-word note: “Your house is paid off. Merry Xmas. Joe.”
Also inside was a letter from the bank confirming that it was all paid off. So, not only would they not have to make another mortgage payment, but they didn’t even have to deal with any bankers in the process.
Yeah, cue the waterworks.
And, come on, it’s not just them. Don’t we all get just a bit choked up just thinking of this incredible gift Joe has been able to give his parents, let alone seeing the raw emotion taking over his folks?
No surprise, Joe’s video has been a hit online.
He shared it on YouTube, where it has received more than 11 million views. And it recently made the rounds on Twitter, shared by @kwilli1046, where it has received another 9 million+ views.
Even Captain America himself, Chris Evans, couldn’t help commenting on the touching moment.
Honestly, it’s videos like Joe’s that make social media seem worth sorting through. It’s an absolute gem.
