Losing a loved one is never easy, and the pain is only amplified as a popular celebrity whose life has been lived out in front of the world since a young age.
Valerie Bertinelli is experiencing this pain as she remembers her late ex-husband Eddie Van Halen for her new memoir, “Enough Already: Learning To Love The Way I Am Today.”
Now, the Food Network star is getting candid with fans in a new interview with The Today Show’s Hoda Kotb.
During the emotional tell-all interview Valerie admitted she and ex-husband Eddie Van Halen made mistakes when they were younger, but she’s so glad they were able to co-parent and stay friends long after their divorce.
“We went through a lot of hell as well. We weren’t really good to each other at a lot of points in our lives because we met so young and were very immature,” she admitted.

“But I’m so happy that we were able to come to a beautiful place by the end of his life. I just wish he were still here.”
As fans will recall, the legendary rock n’ roll guitarist died in October 2020 after a battle with cancer.
Speaking with Hoda, Valerie explained how she feels about soulmates.
“I think soulmates, I think we have more than just one. I think I feel like Wolfie is a soulmate of mine. When I think of soulmate, I think of souls that come here to experience this life on Earth together again and get to a higher place.”
She continued: “I definitely know that was part of Ed, I loved his soul deeply.”

It’s clear Valerie and Eddie shared an unmistakable bond that will last beyond this life.
Valerie’s book, “Enough Already: Learning To Love The Way I Am Today” is available now for purchase.
