The Cadbury Bunny is one of those iconic mascots, but in the last couple of years the company has played a little fast and loose with what counts as a “bunny”.
But that’s okay, because their annual Cadbury Bunny Tryouts Contest involves people dressing their pets up in bunny ears for our enjoyment. Hard to argue with that kind of cuteness.
Last year’s winner was a bulldog named Henri.
He won the chance to appear in a commercial for the 2019 Easter season, and now a whole new batch of adorable animals are in the running to star in the 2020 Easter campaign.
From thousands of submissions, Cadbury chose 10 finalists for the public to vote on.
They are all deserving, but the one who has stolen my heart is a pooch named Lieutenant Dan.
I mean, look at this beautiful doggo!
Lieutenant Dan had to have his rear legs amputated soon after his birth, but that hasn’t stopped him from being the very best doggo he can be.
He was named after the famous character from the movie Forrest Gump , who lost his legs in Vietnam.
You have to admit, he looks pretty good in bunny ears.
Voting is open on the Cadbury website until March 18, 2020. After that the winner will be named.
Full disclosure: I am voting for Lieutenant Dan. You can vote for whatever finalist you love the most… I guess.
