Look, it’s 2021. I think it’s safe to say most men aren’t weirded out by women’s period products anymore. To keep it simple — if your boyfriend or husband refuses to pick up your pads or tampons from the drug store, he’s not the guy for you!
However, if he’s just simply confused by tampon sizes, he’s a sweetheart that will get teased on social media.
Women’s period products have come a long way in the past 100 years.
Did you know the word “period” wasn’t even said on TV until 1985? Not 1885… 1985! To make this fact even more fun, the word was first said by a 19-year-old Courtney C*x in a Tampax commercial 8 years before she would play Monica Geller in everyone’s favorite sitcom, Friends .
From pads to tampons to menstrual cups, there’s so many different period products on the market.
With so many options, it’s hard enough for people who have periods to keep track of them all — let alone people who don’t have them!
Now, a boyfriend has gone viral on Twitter after asking a hilariously innocent question about his girlfriend’s tampons.
Sharing a picture of two different tampons, Twitter user @EchoXrayMusic asked: “What the heck is the difference between a Left and Right tampon??”
In case you didn’t know, L stands for light flow, and R stands for regular flow.
Of course, this boyfriend didn’t know that and immediately began to get teased online.
“It depends on what side of your body you lay on when you sleep. L for if you sleep on your left side, R for right. I use S for sport mode because I toss and turn all night,” tweeted one woman.
“The L and R define which way you turn them to screw the tampon into place,” joked another.
My personal favorite tweet? “Actually the L stands for loud, like when the flow is audible like an ocean wave, and the R stands for roar, like when the v*g is more of a lion than a cat, where it’s not like a heavy flow but that it’ll bite you. Hard.”
How hilarious is that?!
