The moment we all dread: that we’ve changed so much that people don’t recognize old pictures of us.
For Tori Spelling, that dreaded moment came when her kids saw her in Beverly Hills 90210 . I can feel her pain already.
Tori has five children.
Her youngest, Beau Dean, just turned 2.
Finn Davey is 6, Hattie Margaret is 7, Stella Doreen is 11, and Liam Aaron is 12.
She married actor Dean McDermott in 2006!
Before kids, she famously starred in “Beverly Hills, 90210.”
In arguably her biggest role of her career, Tori portrayed Donna Martin in Beverly Hills, 90210.
The show was produced by her father, Aaron Spelling, who produced some of TV’s biggest hits. His filmography included Charlie’s Angels and 7th Heaven .
She played the role for ten years.
From 1990 to 2000, Tori starred in 90210 alongside the likes of Jason Priestley, Shannen Doherty, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris, Brian Austin Green.
That whole cast is confirmed to be returning for the revival.
Because, oh yeah, there’s a revival coming.
Believe it or not, Beverly Hills, 90210 is part of what is considered a shared fictional universe in the 90210 franchise.
Yeah, there’s actually a whole franchise around the 90210. Who knew?
Anyway, the new show is called, BH90210 .
Tori has appeared in much of the universe.
She reprised her role as Donna in the 2009 continuation of the universe, 90210 .
The other shows in the BHCU (Beverly Hills Cinematic Universe, which I have decided to call it) include Melrose Place and Models, Inc.
“BH90210” will have a 6-episode first season.
The whole cast will be playing their original characters, and will continue their stories in the BHCU. Woohoo!
The new show is set to air on FOX on August 7, 2019.
Press tour time is clearly in full swing.
Everyone has been making the rounds, including Tori herself.
She called into 2dayFMBreakfast , where she talked about showing her kids 90210 .
It took her no time at all to get all the hosts laughing.
It started out pretty normally.
“So the first time I showed my oldest kids was probably a few years ago, and they’re 11 and 12 now, and they couldn’t find me in it.” She told them.
They recognized her co-stars immediately.
She said, “They were watching a scene, and I was like, ‘Okay, where’s Mommy?’
They’re like, ‘There’s Jennie, there’s Ian’ […]”
(Jennie and Ian, referring to Jennie Garth and Ian Ziering, respectively.)
As for Tori?
She continued, “[…] and I’m like, ‘And Mom?’ and they’re like, ‘Nope!'”
Everyone immediately broke out into laughter, including Tori.
Frankly, I’m shocked they didn’t recognize her! She hasn’t changed that much, has she?
But Tori has one thing up her sleeve.
Likely in preparation for the new show, Beverly Hills, 90210 has been nominated for a Teen Choice Award.
It’s up for Choice Throwback TV Show, and Tori posted on Instagram that her kids might think she’s cool after this one.
The whole cast looks so excited for the new show.
They’re all very tight-lipped about what the new series will entail, but that doesn’t mean they couldn’t share some tidbits.
“Not everything is the way it appears,” seems to sum up all the teases from their press day.
Tori is also super grateful for the revival.
In an emotional Instagram post , she wrote about her experience on the original show:
“I was just 16 years old when the original 90210 started filming and too young to really understand and appreciate the impact our show would have on our generation and generations to come.”
She called her fellow cast mates her family.
And said:
“Well, now I get a do-over. At 46 years old this time I’m taking the time to appreciate every moment as it happens.”
Yeah, I’m definitely turning into the new 90210 . It looks like it’s been made with so much love!

@2dayfmbreakfast posted a short clip of her interview on their Instagram, which you can check out here.
I personally love all the pink — and the throwback snaps of her in Beverly Hills, 90210 , of course.
