Tom Cruise is not known for holding back his emotions, so when a leaked audio clip of him tearing into the crew members of the upcoming Mission Impossible film went viral, many fans weren’t surprised.
Information about the coronavirus pandemic is rapidly changing and Diply is committed to providing the most recent data as it becomes available. As we all know, many Hollywood projects have resumed production amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, it is not uncommon for a set to get promptly shut down for two weeks after someone on the crew contracts COVID-19.
One of the most recent shutdowns was the *Mission Impossible 7* set in Italy.
In October, Variety reported that the film was forced to shut down for a week after crew members tested positive for COVID-19.
Tom Cruise is not willing to take any chances on the American set of *Mission Impossible 7* and let the crew members know as much in a new, leaked rant.
In the two minute clip, the 58-year-old can be heard yelling and cursing after seeing COVID-19 protocols being broken on set.
He begins, “We are the gold standard. They’re back there in Hollywood making movies right now because of us.”
“Because they believe in us and what we’re doing. I’m on the phone with every [expletive] studio at night, insurance companies, producers and they’re looking at us and using us to make their movies,” the actor can be heard saying in the clip .
“We are creating thousands of jobs, you [expletive]. I don’t ever want to see it again. Ever!”
“You can tell it to the people who are losing their [expletive] homes because our industry is shut down. It’s not going to put food on their table or pay for their college education. That’s what I sleep with every night – the future of this [expletive] industry,” he continued.
“So I’m sorry, I am beyond your apologies. I have told you, and now I want it, and if you don’t do it, you’re out!”
“We are not shutting this [expletive] movie down! Is it understood? If I see it again, you’re [expletive] gone.”
“Do you understand what I want? Do you understand the responsibility that you have? Because I will deal with your reason, and if you can’t be reasonable and I can’t deal with your logic, you’re fired.”
“That’s it. That is it. I trust you guys to be here,” he concluded.
A debate has since sparked on social media in regard to the rant, and if it was appropriate for Tom to be chewing out crew members in such an aggressive way.
Some people went so far as to say it was verbal abuse .
“I’m conflicted. Tom Cruise is a notorious asshole abusing people on this long rant beyond what seems needed,” tweeted one user.

“But, I also share his anger & applaud concern for an industry responsible for many jobs. I hope this was confirmed to be about COVID…& not something else altogether,” they concluded .
Others felt Tom was well within his rights to yell at the crew members.
“Apparently, the crew’s lack of respect for the rules and safety led to this. Respect for Cruise for doing what had to be done,” tweeted one fan.
“You Go Tom Cruise, You Da Man!” tweeted another.
Tom has yet to address the rant publicly.
