I’m sure you can agree that Starbucks is a great place to get a fancy coffee every now and again. But they’re also kind of expensive. Sigh … if only there was a way to get their drinks for a lot cheaper .
Apparently, there is.
According to a recent TikTok hack, there’s actually a way to get one of Starbucks’s most popular drinks for a lot cheaper.
That almost sounds too good to be true!
A TikTok posted by CBC Street Cents breaks it down, testing to see if you can actually get the drink at a discount.
Spoiler alert: you can.
The drink in question is the Starbucks Iced Brown Sugar Oat Shaken Espresso. And while that’s a mouthful just to say, it’s pretty dang good.
The hack involves ordering a different drink.
You just have to add specific modifications in order to turn it into the Iced Brown Sugar Oat Shaken Espresso. (Say that three times fast.)
You have to order a grande iced espresso.
Like, just a plain one. Then (in the Starbucks app, of course), add extra ice, extra espresso, three brown sugar pumps, “a splash of” oat milk, and add a sprinkling of cinnamon on top.
According to the video, you can’t tell the difference.
The taste is almost identical, and will cost quite a bit less than the hard-to-say “real” version.
Like, the difference in price is staggering.
In the TikTok, they explain that the price for the grande Iced Brown Sugar Oat Shaken Espresso is $6.72 after tax, while the regular iced espresso is only $3.73 (!), but that’ll be different depending on where you live.
