If you buy a lot of things online and get packages sent to your doorstep, chances are you’ve encountered a porch pirate. Around a third of Americans have experienced someone stealing a package off their doorstep at least once.
One fitness TikToker had it happen to her, and even found the perpetrator wearing the clothes from the package she’d stolen.
Desiree Alexix-Kae Mize is a fitness and weight-loss influencer.

Her account ( @wokeuplikedez ) has over 665,000 followers and millions of likes.
Earlier this month, she caught a neighbor walking around in an outfit that matched one she’d ordered, only to have that package go missing.
She films the girl, and posts it to her TikTok account.
“When you’ve had 2 Buffbunny packages stolen in the last week and see someone walking around your apartment complex in an unreleased set,” text in the TikTok reads.
This initial TikTok has over 11-million views.
Mize then posted a second TikTok, where she actively walked up to the neighbor and started filming. The neighbor saw Mize and began covering her back, where the Buffbunny logo would be.
In true TikTok fashion, Mize shared the full story with her followers.
She shares six TikToks chronicling the events surrounding who she calls the “Buffbunny bandit,” first explaining that she’d been waiting for her package of exclusive and unreleased activewear that never arrived.
Shortly after two separate packages went missing, she noticed the neighbor walking her dog in the complex.

At first, she doesn’t really think anything of it, saying, “I’m thinking wow, what if there’s another Buffbunny collection athlete who lives in my complex?”
But then she starts to piece two and two together, and realizes that the girl might have stolen her packages.
In a second part, Mize explains that she goes to the leasing office for her complex to discuss the potential theft, and they tell her she needs more evidence before they can do anything.
In the third part, Mize talks about how she got the company to send her a new package.
Even though she had her notifications on for tracking and delivery, the package was still missing by the time she got to it. That’s when she sees the girl again, and takes the video seen in the initial TikTok.
That’s when Mize and her sister go to take the video seen in the second TikTok.
In the fourth part, Mize finally gets her evidence, but is told she needs to file a police report. Then, the police say there’s nothing they can do unless the girl confesses.
In part five, Mize gets the police to confront the girl.
And by the end of the video, Mize explains that the girl confessed and returned some of the pieces she’d stolen, claiming that she only stole one of the packages.
But Mize quickly realized that she had to have stolen the others.
In the sixth and final part of the Buffbunny Bandit series, Mize explains that she’d mixed pieces from different packages up, which was proof that she’d stolen multiple packages. So the police officer goes back to the girl’s unit and gets the rest of them back. All in all, a happy end.
For better or worse, the commenters were entertained.

Though initially, many commenters were following along with sympathy, some began to wonder if this was an elaborate PR stunt.
One commenter wrote, “This is the best marketing campaign I’ve seen in a long time. Good job!” It’s pretty clear that, even if it was staged, Mize’s followers had fun watching it.
