Believe it or not, folks are using wooden dowels they bought at the dollar store to transform their furniture and accessories. And it looks so good you would never know.
Take a look at this plain Ikea TARVA dresser.
Doesn’t it look so boring? Sure you can paint it. That’s a nice idea, but you can also do one better. You can actually make it look a lot more expensive by gluing wooden dowels to the drawers.
So let me show you the process of this transformation.
Pick up wooden dowels at the dollar store. Then get yourself a good glue. Now, glue each dowel to the drawers. After that, you will need to cut the ends off.
Let’s take a look at the before and after pictures of how this piece got nicely transformed.

This lady wanted to make a stylish wooden dowel lampshade. So she cut down the dowels to the sizes that she wanted and then painstakingly glued them on. To finish off, she spray-painted the whole lamp in gold color.
