There’s nothing better than a good DIY.
If you’re here, you know I’m right. One clever (and thrifty) TikTok user realized that she could DIY some of the high end furniture pieces she was coveting, so she set to work. Now, Christina, aka @flipdaddie, has over 99,000 followers keeping up with her flipping journey!
She recently went viral on TikTok for one of her flips.

The TikTok, which has over a million views (YouTubers are quaking), covered her journey to recreating a piece she found at Anthropologie. The price of the piece? Only $898. Pennies!
She was not going to pay almost $900 for a nightstand.

So, she decided to hit up an old favorite.
“Naturally, I hopped onto Facebook marketplace and got two of these nightstands completely free, then got to work!”
Man, I wish my Facebook Marketplace had finds like that. Mine is full of broken printers.
Flipping it was quite the process.

So, wood filler sure looks like peanut butter, huh? ANYWAY, Christina filled in the carvings with food filler to smooth the doors out, sanded it all down, and busted the paint out.
The finished product is STUNNING.

Hi, this is gorgeous. She took the idea of the nightstand and actually managed to improve it. I love those lucite handles, and those legs are to DIE for.
Seriously, her work is next level.

This hutch before-and-after is just incredible. I love that she used the top of the hutch for a new bar area, which I wasn’t expecting — flippers tend to destroy the top part just to use the base!
She took on Anthropologie again to redo a buffet table.

Sure, because I’m just going to fork out $2,298.00 for a buffet table. In the words of Mrs. Incredible from The Incredibles : “I don’t think so!”
This one took a LOT of work.

She picked up a sideboard on Facebook Marketplace for $20, then got to work refinishing it. She sanded all the sides, replaced the middle shelf with a mirror and wine racks, and gave it a good coat of primer and paint.
She used a high-gloss paint to give it that lacquered effect.

It came out great! The wine rack really gives it a little something extra, and the lucite legs make it look like it’s floating on gold. 10/10, would have in my home.
Let’s get back it at with another Anthropologie flip.

This nightstand retailed for $348, which is still way too much for a nightstand. Luckily, she had a friend who had a dresser that she didn’t want, so she got it for free!
She enlisted a friend with power tools to help her cut it down.

So, that looks amazing. It’s crazy how quickly furniture transforms from something ugly into something beautiful. It really makes me want to buy a lot of power tools, tbh.
BOOM. Her best flip yet.

This stunning nightstand has the energy of the Anthropologie nightstand, but was made for a quarter of the cost. What can’t DIYers do, you guys?
(We can’t stay on budget, that’s what we can’t do.)
