When I was in university, I heard whisperings of an elusive antic my fellow academics were getting up to in their most vulnerable moments.
The shower beer — a cold one you crack during a steaming shower — was the opposite of the party culture that plagued our campus.

On the spectrum of reasons to drink, a shower beer is lightyears away from drinking to impress, get wasted, or celebrate something. It’s a simple act of bliss that you enjoy solo (usually), and it’s growing in popularity.

Urban Outfitters featured this beer holder on their site, and it’s currently taking pre-orders.
Designed by Sudski , this blue beer buddy is described as an “innovative water-proof stick-on beer holder.”
So basically everything you need to enjoy a cold one.
Shower beers have grown so much in popularity that they’ve even become a topic of research for some.
Dr. Christopher Hollingwsworth of NYC Surgical Associates told Fatherly “The shower beer is actually a great way to improve productivity and creativity.”
“Showers are a great way to release dopamine, and adding one drink to that can assist your creative juices due to your relaxed mindset.” he continued.
A drink, you say? A drink can be any drink…so wine-not?
That’s right, it seems the good people at Urban Outfitters came out with a wine glass holder, too.
These designers were clearly sippin’ and soapin’ — but we’re here for these “creative juices,” and the great things they come up with.
