It’s so much fun to see how far people have come over the years. Take a look at yourself 10 years ago and it’s probably very different from where you are now. It isn’t until you really think about it or bring memories from back then that you realize you have changed a lot. A photographer has managed to show how lives have changed and evolved over the last few decades for over 135 people. His project shows how all our lives are on a path that can be bent and molded depending on how we approach it — but we all start somewhere.

When Chris Porsz is off from his job as a paramedic, he’s capturing beautiful shots with his camera.

In the 1970s, ’80s, and ’90s, he took street photos of strangers.
He photographed people in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, taking hundreds of pictures.

It’s been over 30 years since those first photos were taken.
Now Chris found the people he had photographed back then.

And he took their pictures again.
He had them recreate their old photos.

It has turned into 135 reunions.
He has compiled the photos into a book he has titled Reunions.

“This book has been nearly 40 years in the making and I believe the project is totally unique,” said Chris.
“I don’t think anyone else has tracked down so many strangers and recreated photos in this way before.”

There is a story behind each picture — which is told in the book.
This is Dog and Tina.

“I remember the photo being taken, it was a brilliant time. I had various styles of punk hair for quite a few years,” said Tina.
“They were good times, I still had hair then,” added Dog.
Jennifer Hall worked in this fruit and vegetable stand on Saturdays for four years.

“I think I was about 17 when Chris took my photo. I was aware that someone was taking my picture at the time but I wasn’t sure who or what it was for. My niece saw it in the local paper 30 years later and I realized it had been Chris.”
Martin Coulson and Andy Randal eating french fries.

Martin is now married with two kids and Andy is a telematics engineer also married with three kids.
This is Punk Badger Farcue. He won a pizza eating contest when he was 20 with a timing of around two minutes.

“My friends encouraged me to enter and we had to try and eat a 12-inch cheese and tomato pizza as quickly as possible. I won and got a round of applause and [a spot on the] front page of the local paper.”
Now he has five children and paves roads for a living.
Tony and Sally Wilmot, had no idea their photo was being taken.

After this picture was taken, they went on to get married and have two kids.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words.

These photos tell whole stories over decades. Check out more of Chris’s photos on his Facebook page!
Like father, like son.

David Harvey became Chief Superintendent and is now a retiree. Tim Goodman has six children and is a successful businessman — he’s come a long way from a talking to from a police officer.
You can tell she’s still got that attitude.

Xenia Gordon is now a mother of three and a grandmother, but this picture shows she’s still got a bit of the rebellious spirit still in her.
Some people stay metal.

Steve “Metal Mickey” Osborn broke both of his legs several times in several motorcycle accidents, and the subsequent bolts and plates in his legs earned him his moniker. Now, Steve plays guitar and has raised more than £20,000 for the National Association of Bikers with a Disability.
It’s amazing to see how people have changed and stayed the same.

Sometimes friendships or relationships stayed strong, and other time people had lost touch until Porsz brought them together again. Day to day, life feels pretty short, but when you think of things in decades it suddenly feels a lot longer.
