I’d like to hope that most of my personal embarrassments are behind me in life, safely stowed away in the long, long ago times before social media was a thing.
But, at the same time, I’d also like to hope that if I do something stupid like that again, it will be the sort of thing I can laugh about.
Credit to this guy — he sure can have a good giggle about his embarrassing moment.
Most of us have partied a bit too hard once or twice in our lives.
It doesn’t take any particular talent. Anybody can do it. Hey, sometimes the drinks are tasty and go down easily, and the next thing you know, the world has gone blurry and your head weighs 40 pounds and you can’t say words or feel feelings.
But it’s still not every day you hear a story like this.
This Scottish guy has a hangover story he’ll never forget, even if he can’t completely remember the night that caused it.

And he told his tale in a video that has since gone viral.
Basically, he went out to a house party in Glasgow, enjoyed himself, had some drinks, had some more drinks, and woke up on a couch the next morning. The only problem is that it wasn’t his couch. Or his house. Or even the house the party had been at.
No, the poor sot had wandered into the house next door to the party.

“I went to get a taxi last night. The taxi left and I came into the wrong house,” he explained. “I came in, got a cover and went to sleep. Instead I went into the house next door. A couple woke me up going ‘Who are you?’ I’m like, ‘What are you talking about? I was here at the party last night. And he went ‘Trust me man, there was no party here last night.'”
He slowly started to piece some of the details together, like his memory of the northern lights.

Of course he didn’t actually see the aurora borealis, but a mural on the home’s wall.
Turns out the couple found a pot of noodles on the stove as well. “I must have been making myself noodles,” he says.
Thankfully, both he and the couple had a sense of humor about the situation.

It could have been much more awkward.
“Thank God this woman is from Glasgow,” he says. “She was like ‘Aye, we’re welcoming.'”
“Thank you very much for being understanding.”
In fact, they all had trouble controlling their laughter throughout the video.

In the end, the couple gave the poor confused fellow a cup of tea and a cigarette before sending him on his way.
Talk about gracious hosts!
