Here we are folks, diving head first once again into the beautiful ocean of cinema that is Game Of Thrones . We’re looking at fan theories once again, so get ready for some words of wackiness!
Look behind you.

What’s that? It’s a wall. Look up the wall. It’s a ceiling. Now look down. That’s your crotch. Now look forward. These are some spoilers for Season 8, Episode 5 of Game Of Thrones .
Seriously, if you haven’t seen ‘The Bells’ then dip right now.

” Dip ” is a word here that means “When you run from someone or something”. The something here would be these spoilers for the most recent episode of Game Of Thrones .
You have officially been warned.
Okay, here we go.
So ‘The Bells’ was an alright episode… if you’re part of a sliver of the population that enjoyed it.
Most, unfortunately, thought the episode wasn’t all that good.
First off, it’s got the worst ratings.

Sure, the episode had 12.48 million viewers which is a series high, but ‘The Bells’ is also the lowest rated episode of Game Of Thrones on Rotten Tomatoes (at time of writing).
There were a bunch of reasons people were mad.
But none were more prominent than the way that Cersei died.
That, in particular, was the basis of a lot of the outcry from fans everywhere. Twitter blew up, Reddit continued to pump out memes and fan theories, and the world continued to turn.
But some people were pretty happy.
A lot of people hate her, and kind of with good reason.
So there was a lot of hate, but also some celebrating on Twitter.
However, there was another man lost to ‘The Bells’.

And that was Varys, the Spider, the E****h, the man with many whispers.
He was killed off after seemingly trying to betray Daenerys, and she murdered him in the most Dany of ways: she turned him into a seared e****h.
We kind of saw it coming.

You know that all of his secret planning was going to catch up with him in the end.
Westeros loves to gossip. It was bound to come back to Dany.
But before that…

Varys might actually have tried to poison the mother of dragons.
Unsuccessfully, of course, however now that we think that the effort was made, we can answer some other questions about the episode.
Like, why did he take off his rings?

Just as he finds out he’s going to die, he removes all of his cool jewelry and goes off to be executed. He took especially long with that jeweled ring.
The shot looked deliberate.

Too deliberate.
Why else would the director focus so much on that ring unless they were trying to tell us something was special about it… but what could be so special about a ring…
Let’s go back.

To the death of King Joffrey.
Obviously, he was poisoned, but by what? That’s right, one of the jewels on Sansa’s necklace was in fact, poison.
So we know poison jewellery exists in this universe.

And we know that Varys is trying to poison Dany before she goes all mad queen on us… do you see where I’m going with this, folks? No? Well, let me explain.
Clearly, one of Varys’ rings might be poisoned.

And he’s leaving it behind so that maybe, just maybe, someone can use it on Daenerys now that she’s officially started to lose her marbles. If they can find the ring.
That’s the part of the theory that doesn’t make sense.

At least to me. Is there anyone else in Westeros that knows about Varys’ poison ring?
And could they access it if they wanted too? Where would Dany put all of Varys’ belongings once he was burned to a crisp?
Maybe the little girl is in on his plan.
We all figured this out by now, that the little girl was meant to deliver the food.
But maybe she knows about the rings too!
Some of Twitter already believes it’s true.
But I don’t know, I really don’t think they would just go with the poison route. Especially with the final episode around the corner, the ending for these characters should be a lot grander.
Have they learned nothing from Cersei?
Other people are just OVER it.
Considering the incredibly low ratings, you can imagine there are quite a number of tweets just like this one.
Some people think that the rings have no meaning at all. But that can’t be.
What do you think?

Do you think Varys’ ring will come into effect? After all, it wouldn’t be the first time a ring has decided the fate of the world. And everyone knows you have to rip off Lord Of The Rings to be a good fantasy.
