Alright, let’s get into it.
As you may already know, Season 8 has been quite polarizing for fans. Some have thought it was pretty good, others think it’s the worst thing to happen to television ever.
People were particularly upset with one of the leading ladies on the show.
GoT fans are still processing the fiery ending to the 5th episode of season 8.
Some felt Dany’s actions during the episode made perfect sense and that her turn to ‘madness’ was inevitable.
If you remember, she was acting a little strange in the first few episodes of the new season.
However, others felt that Daenerys burning King’s Landing was the result of lazy writing and poor character development.
Honestly, it’s been okay.
Most people are unhappy about how their favorite characters perished , others are unhappy about the lighting in certain episodes, others are just kind of unhappy in general. The internet is hard to please, unfortunately, unless you’re a dog.
However, one of the crowning moments of Season 8 came from one of the Starks…
And of course, that Stark is Arya. Obviously, you could tell from the picture, but darn she is an awesome character.
Very pleased she has made it this far and that she’ll take the Iron Throne in the next episode. Calling it right now.
She was the driving force behind destroying the Night King.
Let’s go back to Season 8, Episode 3: ‘The Long Night’. Our heroes are posted up at Winterfell, waiting for the wights to be upon them.
The night grows dark… a little too dark, to be honest.
Anyways, we get a sweet fight
All culminating in an awesome moment where Arya sneaks up on the ol’ NK, stabs him in the belly with a sweet knife drop maneuver, and he explodes into a million pieces. Him and the rest of his army.
So, the Night King is totally dead guys…
…Or is he?
Well, as per usual, there’s a fan theory going around that the Night King is actually going to come back from the dead, and I assume will wreak havoc in the last episode.
This fan theory obviously came from the “Christian Moms against Dabbing” Facebook group.
I’m kidding, it came from Reddit.
Because as we all know, all fan theories are born when the Reddit stork comes and drops them down our internet tubes. I learned that in grade 6 sex ed.
The theorizer thinks Little Sam and the Night King might have a connection.
The Reddit user, named TurntCrawdad starts like this:
“Eventually I found myself realising that perhaps Little Sam has a bigger part in this whole story than I realised.”
He then goes on to talk about the link between Shakespeare and George R. R. Martin’s writing.
He talks about how Gilly’s name is derived from something called a “gilliflower/gillyflower”. This flower also apparently appeared in Shakespeare’s “A Winter’s Tale”, in which the flower is:
“Cross-fertilized by humans, rather than by Nature: I have heard it said/There is an art which in their piedness shares/With great creating Nature … I’ll not put/The dibble in earth to set one slip of them”
So what does it all mean?
Well he thinks that this is a “subtle clue” that might strengthen the theory that Gilly and Little Sam have White Walker blood in their veins.
And also, perhaps the NK wasn’t in Winterfell to kill Bran…
But to claim his son, or his offspring, or another baby that would’ve been sacrificed to him.
Apparently, little Sam was supposed to be the 100th baby given to the White Walkers by Craster, but we all know how that turned out.
So maybe… the Night King lives on through Little Sam?
Maybe if the boy has white walker blood coursing through his veins, the Night King was able to transfer his soul or whatever into the baby’s body right after his death.
Some people think Little Sam might be someone else though…
Some think he may be Azor Ahai, the ancient hero of the followers of the Lord of Light. But honestly, what would the implications of this be? Would he show up in the Game Of Thrones sequel series?
Also, what happened to all those babies?
We never found out what actually happened to those 99 babies that Craster gave the Night King.
Did they grow and eventually die in the battle at Winterfell?
Or are there still 99 white walker babies out there somewhere? Could one of those babies end up being a reincarnated NK?
It’s really anyone’s guess that this point, and the show’s creators are famous for being unpredictable.
Here’s another reason why we believe the NK might be alive.
When show creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss stopped by at _Jimmel Kimmel Live! _, the topic of the Night King’s death came up.
Kimmel asked if the pair could confirm that the Night King was dead and they said, “We’re not going to answer that.”
So there you have it!
