When it comes to Instagram animals, any cutie can get some followers, but true stars have that certain extra something that really makes them stand out. It may be a heartwarming rescue story or a physical difference that makes them extra special.
Animals with black coats often get extra overlooked. Some people think they’re scary, others boring, and for some, they’re simply hard to take good photos of.
Cornelius Cornbread proves all of those complaints wrong.

He may be a classic black cat, complete with bright yellow eyes, but Cornelius is a pro at making sure the camera captures him in the best light and favorite bow ties.
But it’s his eyebrows that are poised to make him an Instagram star.

Cornelius doesn’t actually have white fur above his eyes, but rather a thinning in his black fur. The fur is sparse enough that you can see the pale skin peeking through, with the shape and location giving him a very expressive face.
Just look at him judging us humans.

Cornelius is four years old and lives in Nashville, Tennessee with his four feline siblings and a shih tzu hanger-on. (I kid. I have a shih tzu that looks just like Cornelius’ friend Duke and I want to give Duke a big cuddle.)
While his brows give him a judgey stare, Cornelius is very empathetic.

In an interview with Bored Panda, his human, Karen Mellette, explained that he often picks up on the mood of the rest of the household and finds the folks in need of comfort. Even if that’s just Duke being frazzled by a roaming squirrel.
He does have a jealous streak, though.

Cornelius insists on being the center of attention and if he sees another animal getting too much, he’ll cut in for a piece of the action. Which probably makes him the perfect Instagram star.
