When it comes to dating , we all have our preferences of what we want and what we like.
Whether we want to admit it or not, many of us have a “type.” But, some of the things we avoid when it comes to dating are not things we like to admit outright and openly. However, many of us do prefer some things over others.

People who can have recreational fun, but control it.
pinkushion424 says that they actually go out and look for someone who can use recreational drugs and alcohol, but also control it enough where they have a successful and normal lifestyle outside of partying and using.
Someone without mental health disorders.
rosie-skies says that they don’t date people with mental health disorders or disabilities because in the past, she has dated someone with depression and anxiety, and she herself also suffers from it. She said her previous relationships have been exhausting and she can’t do it again.
Tall men only.
“Closest for me would be height, I’m 5’7 and prefer men to be taller than me, but whenever I used dating platforms I tend to leave off height preferences, I’m usually upfront about it if asked but if you publicize height preferences you tend to get mobbed by angry shorter men who feel put down,” said HannahK109.
The best of both worlds.

Some don’t like “gamers.”
contracounter says that they won’t date “gamers.” People who like and indulge in video games from time to time are just fine, but they won’t date someone who is “addicted” to video games.
Guys who can show their emotions.
“A guy who isn’t afraid of showing his emotions. It’s not something I won’t admit, but people always seem to look at me strange when I say it. I like when a guy can tell me how he’s feeling without being ashamed or scared he’ll be judged,” said oxoashleyoxo.
Handy men.
thatgirlagain17 said they like a guy who has the attitude of, “I’ll fix it myself.” Guys who are handy and don’t mind getting their hands dirty, or even ones who are blue-collar and able to do things on their own, that’s the attraction for them.
Someone who is “slimmer.”
thanarealnobody said that they want to date someone who is slim, but doesn’t have to be “skinny.” They hate to admit it, but they don’t want to date someone who is overweight. Many agreed saying it shows that they “don’t take care of themselves.”
Buff men.
MelodiS8 and many others say that they love a guy who has a lot of muscles. They like big arms and big shoulders, and they also like someone who goes to the gym a lot.
No kids.
CutePandaMiranda said that they don’t ever want to date someone who already has kids with someone else because being a step-parent can be a huge, thankless task. Plus, no one wants to deal with “baby momma drama.”
They must drive.
GrimGhoul00 said that they will only date someone who has a car and a license. Taking public transportation or being someone’s personal Uber driver and/or chauffer is not something that anyone truly wants.
Financial responsibility.
matchacrinkles said being financially responsible and even frugal is important to her. No one wants to be with a guy who spends money like it is going out of style. Plus, we don’t want to be someone’s sugar momma, either.
Holy moly.
“This is weird and v specific but I have a thing where I really don’t like moles, and I’ve turned down perfectly good, amazing guys because of them. And my friends will be like “what do you mean you’re not into him?” And I can’t tell them the truth because it’s literally so ridiculous but I just can’t,” said Sapphire_Bombay.
